Arundhati Ghosh–Executive Director of India Foundation for the Arts– shares her experiences and intimacies with theatre and the International Theatre Festival of Kerala. Conversing with Vidur Sethi, Ms Ghosh discusses her process as a curator at ITFOK 2020, talks about the space for performances by women at arts festivals and the importance of cultural networks in the current socio-political scenario of our country.

In his curatorial note titled 'Imagining Communities,' Amitesh Grover, Director of the International Theatre Festival of Kerala (ITFOK 2020), writes: "ITFOK 2020 will imagine our theatre as a deep, horizontal comradeship." art dose sat with him at the festival to get an overview of ITFOK 2020 and some of the performances showcased in it. Interacting with Vidur Sethi, Amitesh Grover talks about his role and processes as the director and the significance which the concept of 'Imagining Communities' holds in the current times. He elucidates on the three additional platforms-- Kalitthatt, Films-on-Theatre and Seminars on Theatre-- built for this year's festival, the connotations they hold and the possibilities which might open with interdisciplinarity entering in a variety of arts festivals.

Form, Metaphor, Memory showcases works by the awardees of the Goan Artists’ Grant, instituted by Serendipity Arts Foundation in 2019.  Rujuta Rao was one of the awardees.  Exploring GMC and it’s surroundings in the weeks prior to Serendipity, Perera responded to the concrete and natural landscape and it’s people through body, text and found material.

We caught up with Ravi Agarwal and Rahaab Allana, curators for photography/lens based practices at the Serendipity Arts Festival 2019. They spoke about their curation, the process and the thought behind their respective shows at this year’s edition.

An official press briefing was held at the Old Goa Institute of Management, Ribandar, Goa by Smriti Rajgarhia, Director, Serendipity Arts Festival, who was joined on stage by Dr. Jyotindra Jain and Sudarshan Shetty, Curators for visual arts, Rahaab Allana and Ravi Agarwal, Curators for photography and special project curators including Nancy Adajania, Vivek Menezes, Lina Vincent and Akshay Mahajan.  All the curators spoke about their projects and what to expect at this year’s edition.

Wandering Violin Mantis is artist Nibha Sikander’s first solo exhibition. In this show, Sikander has looked to recreate various species from nature, some real and some imagined. The artist has used multiple layers of intricately cut out paper to create moths, mantises and birds, each one meticulously assembled in her studio in Murud-Janjira.  Saudamini Mishra spoke to her about her work and the process she goes through.

GoaPhoto is an international photography festival that produces location-specific installations connecting photographic displays and their architectural contexts. The third edition will be held from the 6th to the 8th of December, in the village of Aldona (North Goa).

Coming from the industrial township of Tatanagar, Abhishek Basu’s understanding of the 'art of photography' stems from his father's endearing experiments with his film camera seeking to capture what was true to him, his family. As a documentary photographer Abhishek continues this tradition and process of freezing of personal snippets from his own life. The deeper he delves into his passions and unchartered anxieties, the more universal and relatable become the stories. 'The Rum Diary' and 'Labyrinth' are ongoing projects close to his heart.  Working on debut solo show 'Lucid', he took out time and spoke to us.
