S2:07. 'Love is the ultimate anchor' - Tade Ipadeola on the place of poetry in our lives, especially in the ongoing pandemic. The NLNG Prize winner touches on his storied background including the influence of his parents and his hometown of Akinmoorin. He also talks about his acclaimed volume, The Sahara Testaments, while musing on Chadwick Boseman, JP Clark, translation, and more.

S2:06. Oliver Enwonwu is a painter and President of the Society of Nigerian Artists (2009 - 2021). As he embarks on the next phase of his career with a new solo exhibition, Politics of Representation, Enwonwu talks to ART for the People about his life as an artist, the Ben Enwonwu Foundation which works to preserve the legacy of his father, and his thoughts on Nigerian art in general. 

S2:05. Master Printmaker Bruce Onobrakpeya is 89 years old on 30 August 2021. He looks back on his over six decades as an artist in this wide-ranging conversation with ART for the People, touching on many themes around his work in particular and Nigerian art in general. 

S2:04. Focus on the Old Oyo Archaeological Project led by Akinwumi Ogundiran, archaeologist and author of 'The Yoruba: A New History.' On-the-field snapshots of the project team's archaeological digs in the historical sites of Oyo Ile, Bara and Koso - all within the ancient metropolitan space of the Oyo Empire. A multiplicity of voices share their reflections on the once all-powerful empire and the implications for us in today's world.

S2.03. Visual artist Alimi Adewale talks to ART for the People about his studio career and the ideas behind his works in painting, sculpture and installation. He discusses some of his series of works including: the Anonymous Series, Butterflies Over the City, Who's Afraid of Nudes? - and his longstanding exploration of Migration, amongst other themes. A wide-ranging conversation also touching on Alimi's initiatives including the Nomad Artist, designed to support younger artists through the #EndSARS protest and the Covid-19 pandemic. 

S2.02. Multidisciplinary artist Ndidi Dike looks back over her 30 years plus career. She talks about challenging societal expectations and limitations through her art, the implications of gender, and her exploration of subjects including: Slavery, Post-Colonialism, Markets, Consumerism and Globalisation. Her last solo exhibition, titled, ‘Commodities of Consumption and Sites of Extraction in the Global South’ also comes up for discussion.

S2.01. In this no holds barred conversation, Afrobeat heir, Femi Kuti, talks to ART for the People about Legacy+, his recently released joint album with son, Made Kuti. Up for discussion: a wide range of subjects including Nigeria and the African world, growing up as Fela's son, fatherhood, the Covid-19 pandemic and so on.

Bonus Episode. A conversation with Ghanaian writer Ama Ata Aidoo, recorded on May 30, 2010. She was in Lagos for the Farafina Literary evening, and podcast host Molara Wood was then Arts & Culture Editor of Next Newspaper. The decade-old conversation retains its freshness and relevance, and was an audio feature for Ake Festival Online in 2020. 

Ep. 10. Oli Ekun and Agba are stage names of Oluwatobi Olubiyi, one of the new talents helping to forge new paths in comedy in Nigeria, particularly on social media. He talks to ART for the People about his meteoric rise since bursting onto the scene in 2019. Topics include: code-switching between English and Yoruba, collaboration with John Boyega, living in Ibadan, and the #EndSARS menace.

Ep. 09. The all-round artist talks about his new compilation of 100 Songs, and looks back over his more than four decades in the arts. He touches on his founding of Kakaaki in 1980, his student activism days in the 1970s, his pioneering role in arts journalism in Nigeria, as well as his relationship with many including Niyi Osundare and Hubert Ogunde.
