    On this episode we broadcast the third and final Public Art Panel Discussion from the Cultural Arts Center that took place October through December of 2019!

    Hosted by Kristopher Monroe, this one came with the subheading "Getting it Done," and the panelists truly fit the bill: Stephanie Raines, Arts Division Administrator for Athens-Clarke County (and originator of Savannah’s #art912 program); W Projects founder Erin Wessling; and the ever-brilliant internationally-recognized fine artist Jerome Meadows.

    On this week's episode of Art on the Air we broadcast an edited version of the second of the three of the recent Public Art Lecture Series organized by Kristopher Monroe! The roundtable took place on November 14th, 2019 at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center.

  • Art on the Air with Kelly Boehmer and Becca Cook

    We were excited this week to welcome Kelly Boehmer into the studio, along with special guest co-host Becca Cook!

    Boehmer's work was on display at the 2019 PULSE Art Fair during Art Basel in conjunction with Treat Gallery, and she has an exhibition coming up in February 2020 at Cedar House Gallery in Savannah, GA.

    First, we broadcast our long sit down with SCAD alum Stephanie Howard, where we delved deep into her artistic roots, as well as her excellent exhibition "Southern Arcana," currently on-view at Laney Contemporary!
    Then, we shared our chat with one of Savannah's premiere curators Rachel Reese, who is moving on from the Telfair Museums Jepson Center for The Arts to take over the Cress Gallery of Art in Chattanooga. The Savannah arts community will miss her deeply, and I know that you'll enjoy hearing from her on Art on the Air one last time before she begins this exciting new chapter in her life.

    We we joined in-studio with Fiber Artist/Photographer Brittany Reidy of the new exhibition space The 2201, as well as special guest co-host Kevin Clancy of The Hen House! We talked all about Reidy's intriguing personal work, as well as what she's been doing with The 2201. From there we delved into a broader discussion with both Brittany and Kevin about the challenges of putting together a DIY art space!

  • Art on the Air June 5th, 2019 with Peter Roberts

    This week's broadcast of Art on the Air features the multitalented Peter Erwin Roberts!

    Roberts' discusses his solo exhibition "If Only." Here's the show blurb:
    "17 new works explore randomly connected thoughts that become fanciful environments. Based on real life experiences, arbitrary gossip and true encounters, each 12" x 12" has a pop art approach embellished by cut paper."
    We can't wait to have Peter in studio to take a deep dive into not only this show, but his artistic practice and philosophy, as well as his take on the Savannah art community as a whole.
    Also a Field Note with emerging artist Peggy Jo Aughtry and her inspiring story of how a very recent and unprecedented interest and practice in creating art saved her life.
    Well worth a listen.
