ART TAP

On tap this week is an interview with painter Lorie Amick, a founding member of Artists' Own artists cooperative in Lafayette, Indiana and teaches watercolor classes at the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette. We touched on growing up in a family of creative "makers," finding her way through art, and chasing squirrels of inspiration.

On tap this week is an interview with Indianapolis guests Catherine Hughes, Director of Interpretation & Evaluation at Conner Prairie, and Keesha Dixon, Executive Director of Asante Children's Theatre. The two have collaborated on a unique project called "Giving Voice: African-Americans' Presence in Indiana's History," which has generated new community engagement opportunities and greater exposure, and presented the stories and history of the African-American community.

(Warning – we have our first explicit episode of ART TAP. Dildos everywhere.) These two are their own show, on a regular basis even without microphones, and they didn't disappoint.

On tap this week is an interview with Melissa Fraterrigo, writer and director of the Lafayette Writers' Studio. Melissa is the author of more than forty short stories, nonfiction essays and reviews. A lifelong teacher, Melissa has a deep love for all forms of story. She founded the Lafayette Writers' Studio in Lafayette, Indiana in 2014 to help local writers develop their voices while benefiting the community at large.

On tap this week is another unique episode of "ART TAP on the road" from Seattle, Washington where I attended the first of its kind PodCon, at the invitation of one of my oldest friends. My guest is Giselle Wyers, the Donald E. Petersen Associate Endowed Professor of Choral Music at the University of Washington, where she conducts the University Chorale and teaches courses in choral conducting and voice.
