On tap this week is a very unique episode from Seattle, Washington where I attended PodCon at the invitation of one of my oldest friends.  Captain Andrew Reay-Ellers and I grew up in northeast Ohio in the steel town of Warren, Ohio.  After growing up landlocked in Ohio, Andy became a seaman, working his way up to captaincy of ocean going vessels, including three-masted historical schooners.  And he has since become an advisor and Sailing Master for cinematic productions such as “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World” and the Starz series “Black Sails.”

On tap this week is a very unique episode, as it brings together the "Arts Coffee Group," a unique group that has been connected by a thread of once weekly coffee meetings that created a unique interconnectedness through the arts and culture in the Lafayette-West Lafayette region.

On tap this week is a review episode – a week without a guest!  After 20 episodes, it seemed like a time to sit back and review how things are going and what I’ve heard.  It’s a short episode so it’s bite-size and full of flavor.  It also has some of my favorite Look-ups that have been shared by my guests.

On tap this week is a conversation with ceramic artist Sigrid Zahner, Associate Professor of Art and Design at Purdue University and choreographer, dancer and teacher Kathleen Hickey, Visiting Instructor of Dance at Purdue University. What brings these two to the table together is a very interesting feminist performance collaboration that took place in October at Princeton University, combining a worn sculptural “dress” created by Siggy and a performance choreographed and executed by Kat.

On tap this week is Jolivette Anderson-Douoning, “The Poet Warrior.”  Jolivette is a performer, educator, and activist from the Deep South.  She is author of the book Past Lives, Still Living: Traveling the Pathways to Freedom, and At the End of a Rope, In Mississippi (a CD) and other recordings.  She is currently a Graduate Student in American Studies at Purdue University and is preparing to direct a production of Disney's The Lion King Jr. for Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette.

On tap this week is an interview with Dave Sattler, editorial cartoonist for the Lafayette, Indiana Journal and Courier for 49 years.  Dave discusses his take on cartooning and his unique role as the editorialist in this community.  And we speak about his current exhibit at Artists’ Own gallery in downtown Lafayette, and a special event coming up at the Long Center for the Performing Arts, the “Dave Sattler Roast & Toast,” on Saturday, November 11 at 8 pm.

On tap this week is Jenn Tordil, art teacher at William Henry Harrison High School in West Lafayette, Indiana.  Jenn discusses her take on public education, the role of the arts in serving students’ needs, and her perspective as an educator and arts advocate.  And she offers some Look-ups of arts e-zines that give her inspiration, and some out of the ordinary imagery.

On tap this week is an interview with Kristine Holtvedt, Associate Professor and Coordinator of Performance in the Department of Theatre at Purdue University.  Kristine discusses her outlook on theatre, the life and work of actors and directors, and some background on an upcoming production she is directing for Purdue Theatre, The Sins of Sor Juana by Karen Zacarias.

On tap this week is Tetia Lee, executive director of Tippecanoe Arts Federation.  Tetia discusses her outlook on life and art, tiny pill sculptures, after school arts, and the ongoing and growing presence of the arts in the north central Indiana region.

On tap this week is Scott Haan, a lifelong community theatre devotee, self-confessed pop culture junkie, and playwright.  Scott’s presence in the regional theatre community has inspired a lot of devotion and is being celebrated in “Tall Guy, Short Stories,” a Ten-Minute play festival presented by Clinton County Civic Theatre.  He discusses his work writing and sharing his plays, we present a reading of one of his ten-minute plays, and a Look-Up with “Dr. Horrible.”
