Budka finalised her research on a rarely practiced Japanese printmaking technique called Mokulito. She created her own printmaking technique naming it, Budkalito. With the exciting results of Budkalito, she was invited to give lectures and workshops around the world.
The “skin in the game” exhibition from 11 November to 16 December in Hong Kong presents Ewa Budka’s lithography prints and paintings. Ewa Budka, New York-based, born and raised in Poland captures her own stories - emotions which, like a tattoo on her skin are visible on her abstract paintings. Budka explores the complexity of having an international career as an artist, art director, model, and recently also a mom, and all which goes with it, the bad and good times - heartbreaks, frustration, happiness, and love.
The artist stated “Life is all about changes.
2020 had changed my life, it changed me in many ways.
I realised I have many different needs, desires. What I have had learned when I became a Mother is that there are many different Women inside of me. My body has spoken to me in so many different ways that I had to stop, and carefuly check where are coming from all of the whispers. I saw a space-a potential to check and I found in there many different Ewa’s.
A Mother, a Lover, an Independent strong fighter but also Ewa who wants to be taken care of. It took time to hear them all out, to direct who’s speaking when. They all can represent different personality archetypes of Greece Goddesses like Hera, Aphrodite, Anthena, Artemis. All powerful but so different. Finally my Women are all being respectful, friendly, gently living, to each other.
It almost feels that they all had been at fight in the past decade, and now finally I see them all. Clearly without a doubt I wouldn’t be able to listen to any of them if not the 2020.”

Nick Brandt's new project, "Inherit the Dust" is more relevant than ever before. Wildfires, tornadoes, and dangerous viruses are the top news of 2019 and 2020, and it won't change anytime soon. In a series of photographic panoramas shot in East Africa, celebrated photographer Nick Brandt records the impact of men in places where animals used to roam, but no longer do.
Pollution and urban encroachment is the cause of ever decreasing habitat for the natural world and loss of biodiversity. It is time to talk about it, and, more importantly, it is time to do something about it now. Sarah Greene with Blue Lotus Gallery in Hong Kong, despite the coronavirus and the protests, chose to proceed with an exhibition INHERIT THE DUST by NICK BRANDT to reveal the tremendous danger hanging above Hong Kong. Please watch the video and share it with others if you also think it is important to do something about it now.

I am exploring neon signs in Hong Kong with a modern artist using classic neon craft.
Hong Kong neon signs have been a part of Hong Kong history, so I decided to explore how the traditional neon has changed from commercial use to a modern art medium.
I had this great opportunity to chat with neon light maker - Karen Chan, who has the privilege of studying the traditional neon craft alongside one of the oldest neon masters.
You will hear Karen's story about how she started working with neon lights and a detailed process of how to make a traditional neon with contemporary purpose - visual art.
We will also chat about Karen's newest art project and neon art exhibition in Hong Kong alongside answering questions about the tools, cost, and challenges with making the neon lights.

Challenge, simplicity, and addiction to pain, that's just a few topics we chat about with Roberta Boffo, an Italian artist based in Hong Kong.
Her works showcase symbiotic relations between her love for traditional Asian art mediums such as ink and calligraphy and the emotional, vibrant side of her Italian heritage.
We talked about how to get inspiration and the recipe to succeed when starting a new project.
The last 15 minutes of the show is a walk around Roberta's studio, where you can hear about her work and her advice on what to do when "you don't fit."

Hello Everyone!
Hong Kong is a fantastic city, full of everything that you need to pursue your career. What about the dream of becoming an artist? Are there universities worth recommending?
I decided to make a mini-series exploring the question "Where to study Arts in Hong Kong?". In this series, I’ve talked with students who are giving us the privilege to see universities by their eyes and tell us about their passion for arts.
I had this great pleasure to start from interviewing Ira Almeda representing SCAD, Savannah College of Art and Design in Hong Kong. Ira is a third-year Painting, Bachelor of Fine Arts student at SCAD Hong Kong, and she has been exhibiting work since the age of 16.
Also, Ira has been recently invited to take part in a group exhibition at Opera Gallery. Her artwork was on display alongside renowned artists such as Zao Wou-Ki and Feng Xiao-Min, along with their Western counterparts, Pierre Soulages and Hans Hartung.
I talked with Ira about her recent group exhibition, studying at SCAD, and how important it is to find a mentor in the first stage of your career. Finally, we will also have a chance to see SCAD by Ira’s eyes, visit her classroom, and meet her beloved mentor!
Please enjoy the episode, and as always, please don’t hesitate to leave me a comment, like this episode and subscribe to the channel if you want to hear more!
