Quand son ami Alexandro lui a proposé de partir à l’aventure au Costa Rica, Arthur n’a pas hésité une seconde. Ce pays, qui est l’un des endroits avec la plus grande diversité d’éléments vivants dans la nature, est la destination parfaite pour un aventurier tel que lui. Tout comme les premiers explorateurs, c’est en bateau qu’Arthur se rend au Costa Rica, où une surprise l’attend.
Lors de son premier défi d’aventure, Arthur affronte la plus longue tyrolienne du Costa Rica! Plus nerveux que jamais, il s’élance du sommet d’une montagne de Monteverde. Après une descente haute en couleur, il fait la rencontre d’un groupe de singes qui lui offrent un fabuleux spectacle.
Afin de se rendre au paradis des fruits, Arthur doit traverser les rapides du diable. Avec son ami Alexandro, il grimpe à bord d’un bateau pneumatique pour affronter cette rivière tumultueuse. Après cette aventure plutôt sportive, il arrive dans une extraordinaire plantation de fruits où il cueille des ananas, coupe des bananiers et tente de relever son défi : extraire le jus d’une canne à sucre.
Arthur fait la connaissance des Malekus, un peuple aborigène de l’ouest du Costa Rica. Il partage un repas avec cette tribu et découvre leurs traditions. En quittant le village en kayak, il aperçoit deux imposants crocodiles sur un rocher. Seul, Arthur s’approche pour mieux les observer, mais les reptiles se dirigent dangereusement vers lui…
Au cœur de la forêt pluviale, Alexandro guide Arthur dans la Canopée. Aigle, chauve-souris géante, tortue, fougères immenses… cet étage supérieur de la forêt regorge d’animaux et de végétation. À travers toute cette faune, Arthur espère trouver un toucan. Pour réussir son défi, il doit absolument voir cet oiseau coloré qui se tient en hauteur, tel un roi sur son trône.
Arthur a toujours rêvé de faire du surf! Notre aventurier est donc très excité lorsque son ami Alexandro lui lance le défi de surfer sur les vagues de l’océan Pacifique. Va-t-il y arriver? Chose certaine, cette journée épuisante se terminera en beauté avec la rencontre d’un paresseux qui, tout comme Arthur, n’a qu’une seule envie : se reposer!
Arthur et Alexandro passent la nuit dans le parc national du Corcovado, surnommé le sanctuaire des grenouilles. Armé de sa caméra, de sa lampe frontale et de son courage, Arthur doit photographier cinq espèces de grenouilles pour relever son défi. Pendant leurs recherches, les deux amis rencontrent toutefois toutes sortes d’autres bestioles.
Depuis qu’il est un tout petit aventurier, Arthur rêve de voir un célèbre papillon bleu. Selon une légende indigène, le Morpho serait un papillon magique qui exauce les vœux. Malheureusement, Arthur apprend avec déception que ce n’est pas la bonne saison pour apercevoir un Morpho. Mais à un moment inattendu, il croit voir un scintillement bleu au loin…
