Hello? After I pick up the phone at the start of this podcast, it is off to another segment of "Hidden History" to discover Alexandria's connection to the District of Columbia. Then music and the sermon from last Sunday all in the second episode of the series "This Is Most Certainly True."
After we start things off with a bang (pun intended), there is a lot that is NEW in this podcast. New equiptment (thanks to a new sponsor); a new segment highlighting the "Hidden History" around Bethany Lutheran in Alexandria, Virginia; and a new sermon series all about the Apostle's Creed - "This Is Most Certainly True!" Also, you will hear a musiclal "nod" to July 4 and a song from Bethany's Summer Singers.
This is a special episode featuring the African Immigrant Ministry (AIM) of Bethany Lutheran with a sermon by Rev. Joseph B. Davis. Also, a tutorial for coming to our World Music worship and a bonus song by C2W (Created 2 Worship).
Jesus says you are worth more than a penny, and God's actions in the world demonstrate just how much more. This special podcast features the sermon from June 22 as well as music from Created 2 Worship (C2W).
It is definitely not a "Mickey Mouse" operation (despite the music at the start of this podcast). Take a tour of Bethany's children's ministries! Hear music from the King's Ringers, preview our summer programs and enjoy the Allelu Singer's musical for 2014.
Episode 7 of "Motivation for Mission" begins in the church kitchen and ends with some more of the "Sounds Sweet" bell concert. In between there is an interview with Bethany's mission pastor, a West African music tutorial and the sermon from Pentecost 2014.
After a few recent podcasting mishaps, I'd say that things "get back to normal" in episode six of "Motivation for Mission", however, we are jamed with the sweet sounds of a handbell concert and songs like "In The Mood", which are not normally played in a church setting. I'll give a few reasons why I think a concert like this is a good idea and share more music, an interview and the latest sermon a series that takes a look at the mission of the church in the world.
Everything that could go wrong in the making of this episode, did. But, I think The Lord helped things to come together. We add a little West African flavor to this episode and then journey to Athens for the fifth sermon in this series. Christ is shared across cultures in episode five of "Motivation for Mission."
Your patience with this podcast is rewarded with bells, bugles and a birthday girl! After that, it is on to the next episode in "Motivation for Mission" which is all about change.
If you are one of the 700 people who have downloaded this podcast, you might be wondering what happened, this week. First of all, THANK YOU for listening! I'll be happy to read out any comments I get from listeners (hint, hint). Alas, we had difficulties of a technical nature, this week, as described in the announcement. Look for two podcasts, next week.
