3:05pm- Speaking from the Roosevelt Room of the White House on Tuesday night, President Donald Trump held a press conference announcing OpenAI, Oracle, SoftBank, and several other companies will invest $500 billion to build the nation’s artificial intelligence infrastructure. While some are vocally expressing fear that A.I. could lead to a societal downfall, Rich expresses optimism. He notes that its necessary for the U.S. to drive advancements in the critical technological field—as the alternative would be to allow geopolitical rival China to dominate the sphere which would have catastrophic implications for national security.
