Today, on the Arts Block Podcast, we're not discussing anything that happened in the media during the week. We're going to be super honest. I'm going to be the most vulnerable I've been on the pod in a long time. I'm talking about where I am mentally and creatively. I'm talking about where I want to see the world of creatives and where I want this 'Artist Never Die' movement to go. I just hope that this episode inspires one person to get up and GO!

Out of everything happening in the world, sometimes the media cycle leaves me wondering what we are discussing. We're still talking about J. Cole's role in the Kendrick Lamar & Drake Beef, we are bringing up Tommy Richman not wanting to be categorized as a rapper who makes Hip-Hop music, and you fake journalists are out here spreading rumors and lies about people that you have a random personal vendetta against. AND WHO KEEPS GIVING JAGUAR WRIGHT A MIC???

Why does it feel like we're in the sunken place? Like, Boosie is saying his daughter can't bring her girlfriend around because he doesn't want her to contaminate her siblings. Adin Ross hasn't learned where dissing the West Coast gets you because he did it... multiple times. Also, Not Freah & Fat discusses why black people don't need reparations. I'm so tired, and it feels like we're all just falling into the abyss.

What a week we've had, ladies and gentlemen. It was a week so packed that I thought about doing an extra pod. Cardi B gave us a masterclass on using social media during her back-and-forth with her ex-husband, Offset. We find out that Young Dolph's killers only received $800 out of the promised $100,000. J Cole is reminding everyone why he is #1 out of the big 3. Lastly, we answer the question of why is Chlöe Bailey not performing. This is a long week but somehow, someway we're here podding with ya'll. So in my opinion. It's been great!

The more the year progresses, the more I look back to Kat Williams Club Shay Shay interview. When he's right, he's right. More allegations are coming out about more artists; Usher deleted over 7,000 tweets right after Diddy went to jail, and prosecutors have come out and said that Yo Gotti's brother put up a $100,000 hit on Young Dolph and met with the killers. A long week it was, and I'm not going to tell you why the pod is called frosted flakes. You'll figure it out when you listen.

THEY FINALLY LOCKED THAT MAN UP!!! If you have been living under a rock and don't know who "That Man" is, I highly suggest you watch this episode of the Arts Block Podcast. Today, we're going to talk about the take that takes that family, Rubi Rose, exposing that she and Druski were never in a "real" relationship, Rich Homie Quan's beautiful funeral, BET listening to the Arts Block Podcast and being a lil messy with this year's BET Hip Hop Awards. But the most important thing I can talk about is a black man by the name of Marcellus Williams, who is about to be executed in Missouri over a crime he is innocent of. His set date is 9/24/24. If you want to make a real change, please text MARCELLUS to 97016.

So, in light of the latest Super Bowl announcement from Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne decides to go online and talk about his feelings on the matter. Now, personally, I don't like how y'all are treating Wayne (but we'll talk about that more on the pod). However, everyone is blaming Jay-Z, saying he did this because of the Kendrick and Drake beef, and... he did. However, no one is talking about what Hov didn't do. Uh-oh, you might want to buckle in this week cause it's a bumpy ride of the Arts Block Podcast.

Y'all know about pretty privilege right? It's when you get certain attention or get things easier based on your looks and beauty. Well, petty privilege works the same way. Sometimes when you're so petty, (especially to someone the public doesn't like) you can get away with almost anything. That's a common trait with some of the people that we're speaking about today. Kendrick Lamar has proved that he's the king of being petty, Shannon Sharpe has been petty all of his life. Taraji P Henson is petty but y'all don't give her the same grace as everyone else (we know why). Pharell is petty too we keep it on the low. So as we move through this episode, think about one thing. How can one person be so petty?Links:https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock
We have been dealing with much loss in the culture and the community. We've lost a very talented and legendary rapper Rich Homie Quan and legendary actor James Earl Jones. However, with all of the loss we've been seeing, there has been some light. One of the biggest lights that we have seen has been Kendrick Lamar announcing he will be headlining Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans. Now if my memory serves me correctly, later last year 2 dudes got on a track and said that they are "big as the Super Bowl". Huh... it's funny how life works ain't it.
