Hello from your favorite (appropriately!) medicated podcast hosts!
In this episode, we talk about psychiatric medications: why we choose to use them, when we went on them, our good and bad experiences, and more.
If you are grieving a loss (particularly a traumatic one) and have been considering going on medication, this episode is for you!
Please remember that WE ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS and even more than that, we are not YOUR doctor... this is not medical advice, just our experiences.

As Long As I'm Living is a podcast about life, love, and laughter after infant loss. Judith and Alina are rebuilding Happier Ever After one day at a time despite excruciating grief and trauma and offering support to grievers of all flavors, but especially those who have lost a baby to SIDS, infant death, birth accidents, stillbirth, TFMR, ectopic pregnancy, or miscarriage.
In this episode, Judith chats with Jennifer Ventling about boundaries. What are boundaries? how should you set them? What is the best way to enforce them? More this week on this topic on our Instagram stories!
From Jen:
"I am a Certified Professional Coach. I specialize in coaching people with chaotic lives. My mission is to combat toxic positivity and messaging such as,
“take control of your chaos,” or, “learn how to manage your chaos.” I believe that you cannot manage or control chaos. Suggesting that we can makes us feel as if we are incapable when we do not achieve the impossible. Instead, I believe that if we practice awareness, we can find peace in the eye of the storm. I will help you navigate the chaos, and guide you through both internal and external blocks. Together, we develop strategies to help you create stability and achieve your goals."

(Note: Alina is missing from this episode because she was giving birth during the recording!)

One baby born, another baby remembered. Both deeply loved.
In this episode, we talk about Alina's new alive baby daughter and the unfortunate timing of her birth the same week as Aiden's death anniversary. How did we navigate celebrating a birth day and a death day at the same time? Listen to hear.

Catch this episode for a live blog of Alina's week-long induction process (scheduled, postponed, rescheduled, started, paused, started, and finally... completed) and the mental health spirals that accompanied it.
There's an alive baby at the end of this story (and she's still alive, today). If you're not in an alive baby mood, we get it, feel free to skip this episode.

You probably already know Sara Rian's work... but if you don't, get ready to be SEEN in your grief.
Sara Rian is a poet, self-published author, mother, wife, licensed therapist, and griever living in Metro Detroit. She has been drawn to grief poetry ever since her mother's death in 2018.
In this interview, we chat with Sara about how she has turned her traumatic grief into art, what it's like to grieve out loud, and how the love we carry (particularly the bond between mother and child) transcends death.
You can find all of Sara's work at her website and follow her on Instagram, if you don't already!

How I wonder where you are...
Where did our babies go when they died?
To heaven? To the stars? Into the ether? We talk about our thoughts on this existential question and how they've evolved since we became loss moms.

Alina is about to welcome a new baby into her family... It's the latest in a long line of leaps of faith that she's taken after losing Quinn in 2021... probably the biggest one yet. Hear how she's feeling about it all in this episode, then send well wishes her way in the comments!

Join us for part 2 of our interview with Dr. Denise Mandel about relationships after baby loss. Part 1 was released last week... Make sure you check that out first!
She answers questions like:
- How does grief affect intimacy and connection, both emotionally and physically?
- Do men and women really grieve differently?
- How do blame and guilt cause tension and resentment between parents, and is there a healthy way to work through those feelings?
- Can couples actually come out of the experience of losing a baby with a stronger relationship?
- ... and so much more!
Dr. Denise is actively recruiting for a new baby loss support group, so if you've been looking for a kind, supportive provider and a warm, welcoming group of bereaved parents... this is your sign! Reach out to her at [email protected].
