i would say that it seems like there is a ted talk culture and shivon zillis like fits in but she doesnt want other people to participate in ted talks.  but the u.s. has been reduced so much that people are fighting over ted talks. when i think ted talk right now. i think shivon zillis as like the only speaker allowed there.
