Ash and the crew head down to Valdosta, Georgia to attempt to strengthen their relationship with the community there.   

After hearing about a film called "Finding Kendrick Johnson" the crew heads down to attend a film screening that was set up by the friends and family.    During their visit to Valdosta that meet an independent artist by the name of Sweet T, who has written a song about Kendrick Johnson, which she preforms.    We see the family and friends come together to support the film that has come out in regards to what happened to KJ.

Join the Ashes to Ash team as they continue to dig into the Kendrick Johnson investigation, accident or murder?  

In this episode they continue their conversation with Doctor William Anderson who performed Kendrick Johnson's 2nd and 3rd autopsy.  We learn more about his struggle to get Lowndes County to take a look at his findings.  Anderson also speaks about working with the DOJ and them agreeing with his findings.    

Ash also sits down with Mark Patrick George the coordinator of the Mary Turner Project and Thomas Aiello a college professor at Valdosta State University to talk about Mary Turner and a week long lynching saga that played out in Georgia in the early 1900s.    

As the crew continues their investigation, more details arise that are shocking.  Ash is shaken to the core as she learns about what happened to Mary Turner and the many who perished.

Ashes to Ash “The Investigation of Kendrick Johnson” Season 3 Episode 4 “Positional Asphyxia” True Crime  

Ash and the team head down to Florida to interview the forensic pathologist who handled Kendrick Johnson's 2nd and 3rd autopsies.  The team begins to learn about the evidence that was discovered during the autopsy and what these findings mean.  

Ash also reaches out to Mark Patrick George who is the coordinator for the Mary Turner Project.  Mary Turner was a young, African American woman, who was lynched in 1918.  The team discusses with Mark what the implications are on today and how this could impact even a suspicious death even 100 years later.

Ash and Bree then discuss how the supposed "Confession Tape" that was turned in recently (2021), was actually found to be a terrible hoax.

Ash speaks with a few members of the community and their perspectives on the racial divide within Valdosta and how it may have contributed to Kendrick's death.  

We then sit down with Marcus Coleman, the spokesperson for the Johnson family and the role he plays in the FIGHT for Kendrick's case.
