In 1915, Michael McIntyre partnered with Harry Richardson, and they established The Original American Kazoo Company which began producing metal kazoos. there's a kazoo museum in Beaufort, South Carolina, which houses one of the largest collection of kazoos available to the public. and there's also several kazoo bands that travel the country. The instrument requires little effort to create a sound. However, some skill is necessary to make intelligible music. The great thing about the kazoo is, if you can hum, you can play!

Very early on, people recognized the need for proper sanitation. Around fourth century B.C., sewers and toilets were invented in Mesopotamia.  the Greeks started to use chamber pots. It was more traditional to eat your ice cream with strawberries as a topping....however, this day celebrates strawberries in their ice cream. Strawberry ice cream is made by blending either strawberries or strawberry flavoring with eggs, cream, vanilla, and sugar. Food coloring is often used to give it the pink or light red hue. Ice cream remained a treat for the upper classes until a Swiss entrepreneur by the name of Carlo Gatti set up an ice cream stand in London in 1851. It was very difficult to store ice at that time but Gatti built an “ice well” in which he stored the ice that he procured from the Regent’s Canal. but we have Nancy Johnson from Philadelphia was the first American to patent a hand-cranked ice cream maker, while Agnes Marshall also patented a similar machine in England. so if you're looking for an excuse to have some strawberry ice cream or sorbet...today is the day.
