goodbye/fun facts....Decorating with Candy Day...conveniently sandwiched between Christmas and Valentine’s Day. and it doesn’t have to be food, you can use pictures, collages, and even candy-covered fabric for your creations. The origins of candy can be traced back to the ancient Egyptians. They created the first candy by combining fruits, nuts, and honey. In India, sugarcane juice was boiled to create pieces of sugar which were then eaten. The Persians soon caught on and began their sugarcane farming. the actual manufacturing of candy began during the middle ages...but that was only for the elite who could afford sugar. then came the Industrial Revolution, many changes took place that resulted in candy becoming more accessible to the general public and in 1847 The Candy Press is invented which enabled candy makers to produce multiple shapes and sizes of candy at once.
