They created the first candy by combining fruits, nuts, and honey.  In India, sugarcane juice was boiled to create pieces of sugar which were then eaten. The Persians soon caught on and began their sugarcane farming.  the actual manufacturing of candy began during the middle ages...but that was only for the elite who could afford sugar.  then came the Industrial Revolution, many changes took place that resulted in candy becoming more accessible to the general public and in 1847 The Candy Press is invented which enabled candy makers to produce multiple shapes and sizes of candy at once.

Brussels sprouts were first found in the northern European region during the 5th century. in the late 18th century, French settlers brought Brussels sprouts to Louisiana, marking the beginning of the production of this crop...While Brussels sprouts have many benefits, a lot of people find them extremely bitter and steer clear of them. and you don't want to overcook or boil them too long...Overcooked Brussels sprouts will smell of sulfur.  many chefs recommend roasting them...because roasting enhances their flavor. you can then top them with parmesan cheese and butter, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, chestnuts, olive oil or salt and pepper.
