With the debate over the Affordable Care Act descending into hyperbolic political theater, it's not always clear exactly what is at stake. According to the Asian & Pacific Islander Health Forum, the latest bill would have eliminated coverage for an estimated 24 million persons and 2 million Asian Americans and Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders.

Erin Fuse Brown, a professor at Georgia State University College of Law, explains the impact repealing the ACA would have on the Asian Pacific Islander American diaspora, and why healthcare is so highly politicized.
