In Part 1 of this episode, we discover that Alexander Litvinenko served many masters throughout his career. He was a Soviet security guard, a Russian secret service officer, a retainer in the court of a billionaire oligarch, and an agent of British intelligence. After his defection to Britain from Russia, his name was often in the newspapers as a critic of President Vladimir Putin. His death in 2006, seemingly by radioactive poisoning, led many to point the finger of blame at the Kremlin.
