  • Surviving Saturn's Return: "I Quit My Job and Moved Across the Country." - with Raven Brinson (Part 2)
“My Saturn Return punched me in the face and knocked me on my ass… But without it, I wouldn’t have found peace. I wouldn’t have been stripped of everything that didn’t serve me. I wouldn’t have figured out who I am or what’s important.” ‘Astrocandy’ host Raven Brinson discusses the trials and triumphs she experienced during her Saturn return.
A “Saturn return” refers to the moment Saturn returns to the same place it was when you were born. This occurs between the ages of 27-29 (and 56-60 and 84-90). The planet Saturn represents responsibility, discipline and maturity, which is why this transit forces us to make tough decisions that lead to our transformation.
In part one, Raven shared the tumultuous start of her Saturn return in March 2020, which coincided with a global pandemic, quarantines and lockdown. She bought (and sold) a house, started (and ended) a serious relationship and started (and stopped) the ‘Astrocandy’ podcast. By November 2021, Raven quit her job and left Dallas, Texas to move 1,500 miles across the country to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In the second and final part, Raven talks about the opportunity cost of her dream job, the obstacles she overcame in Philadelphia and the lessons she learned during her Saturn Return that changed her life path.

  • If Life is a River, Are You in Flow or in a Cove? A Channeled Message with ‘Spiritual Journey’ Podcast Host Eden Garcia Thaler
“The cove feels like gridlock. It’s also repeated instances of victim mentality, frustration and apathy… Flow is excitement, wonder, awe and inspiration.” ‘Field Notes From the Spiritual Journey’ podcast host and content creator Eden Garcia Thaler joins the show to discuss navigating the metaphorical coves that keep us from being in a state of flow.
Eden has a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with a focus on human spirituality and well-being. She also studied spiritual tantra at The Shakti School, including the methodologies of meditation and visualization, techniques for regulating the nervous system, emotional processing and manifestation.
In this episode, we retell a channeled message about the metaphorical River of Life and its coves (dead-end jobs, unfulfilling relationships, etc.) that keep us from being in a state of flow (authentic alignment and abundance). We talk about the energetics of being in a cove vs. being in flow, our personal experiences navigating each and how to tell if you're stagnant in a cove or drifting in flow. We also discuss radical action, its immediate effects and making decisions from your intuition instead of logic and reason.

  • How to Make Authentic Connections, Deepen Friendships and Create Lasting Relationships with Raven's BFF, Alyssa Morlacci
“I think friendships are just as important as choosing a partner. You’re choosing to go through life with someone; you’re choosing to be their support, their cheerleader, their teacher… that’s what creates a true, long-lasting friendship.” My best friend of 13 years, Alyssa Morlacci, joins the show to discuss friendships.
Alyssa and I met in 2010 as freshman roommates at Kent State University. After graduation, Alyssa moved to Florida while I stayed in Ohio. Even though we were 1200 miles apart, we continued to grow together, remaining friends through six cross-country moves, ten job changes, a dozen failed relationships, several deaths in the family, a couple health scares and one engagement (congrats, Alyssa and Ryan!).
In this episode, we discuss how to recognize authentic connections and deepen them to create meaningful, long-lasting friendships. We share about overcoming make-or-break moments in our friendship and how we knew ours would be long-lasting. We also talk about the different kinds of friendship (reason, season, lifetime), how to handle a falling out with a friend, signs a friendship has run its course and how to make friends in your early 30s. At the end, we ask questions only a best friend can answer– so ask yours, too!

  • Using Tarot and Astrology as Creative Inspiration, Expressing Yourself Through Writing and Moon Manifesting with Poet Stephanie Valente
“We’re all storytellers, whether you’re a musician or an artist or a gardener– flowers have stories and meaning and symbolism.” Fiction writer and poet Stephanie Valente joins the show to discuss how tarot and astrology can inspire your creative expression.
Stephanie, who identifies as a witch, started writing poetry and fiction in college. Stephanie says she was always intrigued by the “mystery and fantastical existence” of the occult and the stars, which is why they hold a presence in her work. In college, she penned a thesis on surrealist art and writing that included astrological and tarot imagery. By her late 20s, Stephanie began teaching herself tarot and studying astrology, which led to her writing horoscopes for a wedding magazine. Since then, she’s written many published works, including “Internet Girlfriend,” which explores the intersection of the internet, the occult and sexuality.
In this episode, Stephanie shares how she discovered tarot and astrology, why she incorporates both of these tools into her spiritual and creative practices and how writing can be used as a means of self-expression and self-empowerment. She talks about tarot decks, the cards’ imagery and symbolism and simple tarot card spreads for beginners. She also tells us how to align with the moon for manifesting– and letting go– with writing prompts.
