Hello everyone and welcome to the first Co-Conspirators Podcast episode of 2021! This instalment sees us take a slight deviation from the path of conspiracy theories, as we attempt to venture into the murky depths of ancient mysteries. More specifically, we find ourselves travelling back through history, trying to seek out the truth behind some of the world's most widely renowned lost civilisations.   

John starts things off, taking a trip into the dense jungle of the Amazon rainforest, investigating the theory that the trees held a civilisation that was more advanced than the European powerhouses of the same era. Did the ruins of ancient cities found by Francisco Orellana play host to a race of expert farmers and mathematicians who never ventured beyond the confines of the rainforest? Next, Luke explores a colony that seemed doomed to fail from the offset, tracing the history of the Lost Colony of Roanoke. Were the British able to establish settlers on the native American island, or did they meet a grisly end? Finally, zip up your wetsuits as Calum dives into the mystery behind the fabled lost city of Atlantis. Did this civilisation really exist or was it just a figment of Greek philosopher Plato's imagination?

With theories ranging from the plausible to the preposterous, can we be certain that anything is 100% true?
