So nice, we opted to do it twice this week with Brian Blessing of Sportsbook Radio and Vegas Hockey Hotline. Brian and host Adam Burke took a look at the bowl season landscape and talked about some of the tips and tricks for this time of the year in college football. They also worked in a few more NFL games after tackling three of them yesterday, focusing today on Eagles vs. Redskins, Bears vs. Packers, and Rams vs. Cowboys. Then they scoured the small NHL card tonight for some plays and opportunities.
Wes Reynolds, host on VSIN and contributor to the Point Spread Weekly newsletter, also joined Adam today for some thoughts on the bowl season, this week’s NFL card, and some college basketball observations. The guys talked about what matters in bowl season, some of the notable players already sitting out, and about when they’ll look to enter the market. On the NFL side, Adam and Wes talked about Jets vs. Ravens, Texans vs. Titans, Jaguars vs. Raiders, and Falcons vs. 49ers. Then they looked at the college hoops landscape and the Big Ten Conference with some league play going on.

We ran long today with Brian Blessing on our opening segment, but sometimes that happens when you have a lot to talk about. We had a lot to talk about today pertaining to the NFL and also managed to work in some NHL and golf as well. Adam and Brian looked back at Week 14 and then looked ahead to Week 15, bouncing around to discuss Jets vs. Ravens, Bills vs. Steelers, Texans vs. Titans, and even some thoughts on the Patriots. The guys also looked at the surprise firing of Dallas Stars coach Jim Montgomery and looked at some of the NHL games for tonight, along with the discussion of a situational betting spot that has worked out well. They also talked about the Presidents Cup golf tournament down in Australia with some betting tips for the first-round matchups.
Greg Peterson from VSIN and the Hoopin’ With Hoops college basketball podcast made his debut appearance on the show to talk, surprisingly, college basketball. The guys talked about his high-volume style, the bankroll management that goes into that, and how to read the betting markets to know where the lines are going to go in order to lock in plays at the best numbers. Looking specifically at tonight’s card, the guys discussed Louisville vs. Texas Tech at Madison Square Garden and also UConn vs. Indiana in that same Jimmy V Classic.

After an Army/Navy discussion for this week’s standalone game, the guys launched into a lot of bowl season topics. They talked about how you have to approach it differently, good and bad bowl coaches, and some of the intriguing matchups from the surface, including Washington vs. Boise State, Texas vs. Utah, and Michigan vs. Alabama.
Then it was time to talk about college basketball. Exam weeks are going on across the country, so Adam and Kyle talked about what that means to the handicap. Host Adam Burke is coming off of a solid week in both the Westgate SuperContest and the Circa Sports Million and hopefully that will continue with this week’s set of picks. After a brief intro to the show and some updates on the contest field as a whole, Adam launched into a breakdown of four very likely picks and a couple of leans that are likely to make up this week’s NFL card. With stats, trends, spot analysis, and the whole nine yards, Adam backed up and supported his picks with some food for thought for listeners.
We couldn’t make it work last week with the holiday to get Brent from DSI Sportsbook on the show, but we got him this week to talk about sharp money in the college football and NFL markets. The Odds Report is one of our listeners’ favorites and this was another good one, as the guys hit on the majority of the Week 15 conference championship games and also this week’s slate of NFL action. More specifically, Adam and Brent discussed championship games in the MAC, Sun Belt, Big 12, SEC, and Big Ten before taking a look at Ravens/Bills, 49ers/Saints, Chiefs/Patriots, and Seahawks/Rams for Week 14 in the NFL.

Brent from DSI Sportsbook was unable to make it work with a recording this week, but he did take some time to send Adam a list of games with sharp action on both the college football and the NFL betting sides. This wasn’t just a list of bets, it came with some explanations and breakdowns of sharp vs. public splits and additional information for this week in college football and the NFL. Sharp money was present in rivalry games like Arizona vs. Arizona State and Oregon State vs. Oregon, plus the big matchup between Wisconsin and Minnesota. On the NFL side, Browns vs. Steelers and Vikings vs. Seahawks were highlight games.
To round out the show and the week on BangTheBook Radio, host Adam Burke shared his Week 13 thoughts, picks, and predictions for the Westgate SuperContest. Unfortunately, he liked the Bills and Saints, but couldn’t lock in five plays, so it feels like an 0-2 start, but Adam talked about three very likely picks and two additional leans that will probably make up his five picks for this week.
