Another week on BangTheBook Radio is in the books. We've covered the NFL playoff games from every possible angle, so make sure to go back and catch anything that you may have missed this week on previous shows. Host Adam Burke took center stage for a while on today's show to talk about the MLB futures market. There are a few decent values out there, but it is a pretty tough market with a lot of free agents still unsigned. Adam discussed some possible values for the World Series and also about the importance of handicapping a team's divisional opponents when it comes to season win totals, which will be out next month.
Brent from DSI Sportsbook joined us once again for this week's version of The Odds Report. Sharp money has hit the board for both the AFC Championship between the Jaguars and Patriots and the NFC Championship between the Vikings and Eagles. Brent discussed where they came in and the guys discussed where the lines may go as we approach kickoff. Super Bowl LII look-ahead lines are out as well, so Brent talked about the thought process behind setting those and about action that has come so far. A couple notes on UFC 220 wrapped up this segment and Adam finished the show with some NHL and NBA betting tips.

Two pros join us on the Thursday January 18 edition of BangTheBook Radio, as host Adam Burke chats with Brad Powers from BradPowersSports.com and Ralph Michaels from WagerTalk.com. Brad Powers will start us off with some thoughts on the AFC Championship Game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and New England Patriots and then the guys will look at the NFC Championship Game between the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles. The guys will talk a little bit of college hoops as well, as they focus in on tonight's big late games between Saint Mary's and Gonzaga and USC and Oregon. Brad will also have a free best bet for tonight for listeners.
Ralph Michaels is up next with a fresh set of opinions on this week's two NFL playoff games. The guys will also hit the NBA to discuss the differences between handicapping that and handicapping college basketball. Has Ralph picked up on anything new for this year that has been profitable? He'll answer that question and several more about college basketball, like last night's loss for Wichita State and if this is a sign of things to come in a tougher league and about the ACC and the Atlantic-10. A couple best bets for tonight and this weekend wrap things up.

We're pushing through the middle of the work week on BangTheBook Radio with a helpful and insightful Wednesday edition of the show. Host Adam Burke will be joined by his two regular Wednesday guests, as Bryan Leonard from WagerTalk.com stops by to talk NFL playoffs and some NBA. The Jaguars vs. Patriots AFC Championship Game and the Vikings vs. Eagles NFC Championship Game both feature a lot of compelling betting angles and breakdowns, so we relied on Bryan's 35 years of expertise in the industry to help us put the pieces together. The guys also talked about the NBA, specifically, the Cavaliers, who are a mess right now. Adam and Bryan also hit on Pelicans vs. Hawks and Heat vs. Bucks for Wednesday night and the Cavs game on Thursday against the Magic.
Wes Reynolds, @WesReynolds1 on Twitter, joined us for a comprehensive look at the NFL, NBA and college basketball. Adam got Wes's thoughts on the Conference Championship Games and then turned it over to basketball. A listener question about the Ken Pomeroy metrics was a key talking point, as Adam and Wes explained what the base stats for KenPom mean and how they can be applied to handicapping college hoops.

Host Adam Burke has some interesting topics to chat about with today's guests, Brian Blessing and Ed Feng, as we touch on some key handicapping concepts in different markets. We'll start with Brian Blessing, the host of Sportsbook Radio and Vegas Hockey Hotline, to chat some NFL playoffs and NHL betting. The Conference Championship games are coming up with Jaguars vs. Patriots and Vikings vs. Eagles, so we got Brian's thoughts on the lines and those matchups. On the NHL side, the guys talked about handicapping goaltenders, whether "having a team's number" matters, and day games.
Ed Feng of ThePowerRank.com joined us to chat about some college basketball betting futures. With Selection Sunday now less than two months away, looking ahead to March Madness betting opportunities makes a lot of sense. Ed has his own set of metrics and models to evaluate college basketball teams, so we'll ask him about the data that he uses and then take advantage of that data to isolate some teams that are good futures bets to make in hopes of turning a nice profit.
