Brendan Banfield took the stand to deny that he and his child’s au pair took part in an elaborate murder plot to kill his wife and a stranger who had been set up to look like a murderer. The  au pair, Juliana Peres Magalhães, previously testified that she turned against her lover in a double homicide scheme involving his wife because she “wanted the truth to come out.”
