In this episode we start by discussing the breakdown of American systems, leaving us with the responsibility of learning how to take care of ourselves and re-learn skills we might have thought unnecessary. From there, we discuss how America has been built on the illusion of “freedom,” which was just the promise of freedom through unfreedom, of not having to consider life and the choices we make.

Listen. Today’s edition of The Check-In with my friend Danielle Moodie was a technological disaster. Danielle is traveling and my internet is the worst. Danielle had to jump off and we couldn’t get her back, so we split this up into two streams. The conversation, I think, was important enough, so we’re going to go ahead and post them. The conversation is about the breakdown of public services and protections and the need to recognize where the trajectory of this country is headed in time to prevent the worst case scenario.

Danielle Moodie and I talked about Dr. Abdul El-Sayed’s victory in the Michigan primary and, more specifically, the attempts by establishment Democrats and their superstructure to curb challenges from the left flank of the party.
