Another request from the message board - I really wish they would’ve requested a different song. I do really like the original but I think my talents lend to a different type of song by the group.

Another contest - I’m not sure if I’ve won on this one as the contest is still going on as far as I know. I think I really botched my chances though - I didn’t beef up the guitars like I should have.

This was the first song that really made me feel like we could perform live. When we did, we had 6 people total on stage. It was grand.

This song really clinched it for me. I once played this at an art gallery at a low volume and it sounded like the real song.

I decided to do this one after watching the band perform it in the awful Coachella movie.

This is one of my favorites from Yankee Foxtrot Hotel. I’m starting to lose it and you can tell with this song.

I heard these guys on a Paste Magazine podcast and wow. Just brilliant. Their earlier work isn’t a crazy great as Floating World but it’s interesting to hear where they came from.

I got to give a copy of the song to these guys as well. I hope they listened with headphones.

This was done for a contest in which the winner gets to sing on stage with the band. I started with the real beginning to the song to sort of show what I was doing to the contest entry receivers. Anyone in Seattle that went to the show knows that I did not win.

This song also broke a rule that I had about not doing any songs with the F.

The first Indie Blockedappella song I ever did. I did it as a joke for a friend. I was actually trying to record this song using GarageBand and it’s synthesizer but instead opted for my mouth when it was realized that I was not talented enough.

And the rest is history!

Sufjan Stevens has become my favorite artist of all time with this album. It’s unbelievable how much of an artist he is and how much of an artist I’m not.

I also managed to get him a copy of this at a preview of the Danielson documentary. He seemed really interested and delighted, not to mention, confused.

This was a request from a message board I go to and I am thankful for it. What a great song. It’s a shame I had to go and muck it up.
