Ben Folds was at one time my favorite artist. He is still in the top 5 but he got nudged down by a few new artists that have captured me. This song is off of his best work, Rockin’ the Suburbs, and when I first heard it, it gave me chills. My version won’t.

Zachariah once told me that if he were to make me a mixtape and put a Half-Handed Cloud song on to make me want to get into his music, this would be the song.

I got a chance to give him a copy of this at one of his shows. Here’s to hoping he liked it.

This is probably the first song from The Magnetic Fields that I ever heard that got me to research them. It’s quirky and fun, but with a Johnny Cash feel to it. Of course, the song loses all of that when I get my hands on it.
