Auralnauts Podcast

Got a new home for the podcast

There is no theme for today's episode other than appreciating a completely awesome movie, which is 1991's "Stone Cold" starring Brian Bosworth and Lance Henriksen. What's it got plenty of? Action, boobs and beefcakes. What does it has exactly zero of? Redeemable characters, logical motivations or happy endings.

Welcome back to AMP! Getting the podcast back on track, starting with a classic "How has it Aged" featuring friend of the show Dirk Marshall, the expert in movies about futures that have now come in gone in our reality. Today we hit a sweet motorcycle jump into the year 2020, where a post apocalyptic Texas is protected by shirtless beefcakes.

Before there was Jedi Party, Turbo and Ozone were out there settling all their grievances through the power of dance. Guest Lydia Bugg watches Breakin' for the first time and now has several street names to show for it.

From the makers of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew comes...CLOWN, a body horror nightmare about a loving father's gruesome transformation into a demonic childrens' entertainer. Suggested by today's guest, Marvel Comics senior editor Jordan D. White!

New series coming at you, Tubi Tuesday. Tubi has become the modern day cable movie channel, suggesting only the raddest movies that no one would ever think to watch. First up is 2011's Priest with Paul Bettany. Since this is an Equilibrium clone, we bring in top Kurt Wimmer expert Robert Brockway to judge Priest's Wimmness.

In 2020, Anthony Ricks is tasked by a despotic U.S. President with entering Los Angeles - now an autonomous island prison - and recovering a doomsday device stolen by maniacal gang leader Ironhead. If that sounds familiar, it's because it's the literally plot of Escape from LA with three keyword replacements. Alex Damon from Star Wars Explained will hopefully help explain how this happened.

In the wonderful land of 1993, true martial artists still held hope that one day their skills would be put to the test against a variety of gimmicky opponents. The protagonists of Shootfighter get more than they bargained for when some of those gimmicks include ripping out human hearts with their bare hands.

Get ready for the grim and gritty apocalyptic world of 2019! It's Steel Frontier, the little known Road Warrior "inspired" film that boldly asks "what if everyone in the apocalypse agreed to be cowboys again?" Featuring our friend Dirk Marshall from the VH-US podcast

For today's "How has it Aged", we're traveling back to the past to talk about a movie that also travels back to the past. To do this, we bring in the one man most qualified to speak on it, because he named his daughter after it. It's Timecop with father of Timecop, Seanbaby.
