A Florida jury convicted 59-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh of attempting to assassinate then-candidate Donald Trump, assaulting a Secret Service agent, and multiple gun charges. Seconds after the verdict, Routh tried to stab himself in the neck with a pen as his daughter screamed for him to stop and U.S. Marshals intervened. Routh, who represented himself, faces a possible life sentence. President Donald Trump praised the conviction on social media, thanking the Justice Department and the jury.

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 to allow Donald Trump to remove Rebecca Slaughter, a Democratic commissioner on the Federal Trade Commission, while her case continues. President Donald Trump has unveiled a new immigration program dubbed the “Trump Gold Card,” which offers lawful permanent residency to individuals or corporations for multimillion-dollar contributions. Hundreds of Hollywood and Broadway stars, from Robert De Niro to Kerry Washington, have signed an ACLU-organized letter defending free speech after ABC suspended late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.
