Hello and welcome to the Auspol Explained podcast! Relax, enjoy, and learn everything there is to do with the Australian political system. Do you know the difference between the Senate and the House of Representatives? Did you know that the Prime Minister isn't mentioned in the Constitution? Or do you just want to know how preferential voting works? Then I have the podcast for you!
As you'll hear in this introduction: this is just about the actual system of government, not policy. If you want detailed discussions and commentary on the latest proposed bill from Labor or Liberal then sorry, but this isn't about arguing for or against any specific political party. I don't want to alienate you so will be interviewing politicians across the spectrum, talking about how things work, and having fun while doing it. So get interested! Politics is no longer dusty and boring and hard to understand because finally someone made a podcast about it.
You may also know that this is a Youtube channel! To be accessible as possible I've written it so that any information on screen is also in the audio, including visual descriptions of guests, graphs, and anything else necessary to understand what I'm trying to explain. Or you can stay here and enjoy learning while you drive, do the dishes, or whatever you do while you listen to podcasts. Enjoy!
