S1. E11. 1920's Fashion Icon/Empire Maker, Nelly Don is Kidnapped - Novel on Infamous Case - AuthorUncut.com

My novel, "The Abduction of Nelly Don" holds a special place in my heart. It is based on the true story of Nelly Don (Nell Donnelly), a humble woman who built a clothing empire from scratch, in the early 1900's, which turned her into a target for murderous kidnappers during the Great Depression.

She was a woman before her time and reviled Coco Chanel. In this episode you'll be able to listen to the first chapter of the audio book (narrated by Clay Lomakayu).

S1. E7. A Classic Hollywood Film Still Shown on Screens and at Festivals Today is Considered Racist - Can You Guess Which One It Is? - AuthorUncut.com

I am a big fan of Turner Classic Movies and old black and white films. I prefer films from the 1940s. Especially films with classic gangsters played by Cagney, gum shoes, mysteries, complex plots. One of my all time favorite series-from this era is The Thin Man with Myrna Loy and William Powell.

If you're not familiar with these two, they are comic gold together. William plays a semi-drunk famous detective and Myrna plays his wife and the one with the fortune. They also have a dog called Asta. Love Asta.

If you love films where all the usual suspects are brought into a room before the guilty one is fingered, then you'll love these films.

But the classic film I'm talking about today is NOT The Thin Man. (Hint: Not liked by the Japanese).

In my next episode I'll be discussing "must haves" for every screenwriter from the master, Stephen King.
