  • Author Simon Gervais discusses HUNT THEM DOWN on Authors on the Air
Authors on the Air host Pam Stack welcomes author Simon Gervais to the studio.
About Simon:  A former federal agent specialized in protective operations and counterterrorism, Simon Gervais spent nearly twenty years in the military and in law enforcement. His assignments took him all over Europe and the Middle East.
About Hunt Them Down:  The dark world he's been fighting against has caught up with him. Will his daughter pay the price?
As a former Army Ranger, DEA Special Agent Pierce Hunt is no stranger to violence. Fresh off a six-month suspension, he's itching to hit a notorious Mexican drug cartel where it hurts, even if that means protecting crime boss Vicente Garcia, a witness in the case against sadistic cartel leader Valentina Mieles. But things spiral out of control when the cartel murders Garcia and kidnaps his granddaughter and an innocent bystander, Hunt's own teenage daughter.
Mieles wants the new head of the Garcia family on a plate--literally. Hunt has seventy-two hours to deliver, or Mieles will execute the girls live on social media. With the clock ticking, Hunt goes off the grid and teams up with Garcia's daughter, a former lover and current enemy. To save the girls, Hunt will have to become a man he swore he'd never be again: an avenging killer without limits or mercy.

  • Wine Women & Writing: Laurie Loewenstein & DEATH OF A RAINMAKER
When a rainmaker is bludgeoned to death in the pitch-blackness of a colossal dust storm, small-town sheriff Temple Jennings shoulders yet another burden in the hard times of the 1930s Dust Bowl. The killing only magnifies Temple's ongoing troubles: a formidable opponent in the upcoming election, the repugnant burden of enforcing farm foreclosures, and his wife's lingering grief over the loss of their eight-year-old son.
As the sheriff and his young deputy investigate the murder, their suspicions focus on a teenager, Carmine, serving with the Civilian Conservation Corps. The deputy, himself a former CCCer, struggles with remaining loyal to the corps while pursuing his own aspirations as a lawman.
When the investigation closes in on Carmine, Temple's wife, Etha, quickly becomes convinced of his innocence and sets out to prove it. But Etha's own probe soon reveals a darker web of secrets, which imperil Temple's chances of reelection and cause the husband and wife to confront their long-standing differences about the nature of grief.

  • Bradley Charbonneau writes about inspiring our kids on Authors on the Air
Authors on the Air host Pam Stack welcomes author Bradley Charbonneau.  I'm excited that Bradley is here because his writing roots are important as a point of inspiration.  This is what he told me:  My dad died in 2015. It was as if, for the first time, I realized that we were mortal and had only this life to live. Unless you're a cat. But I wasn't a cat and I wasn't living the life I thought I was supposed to live--as an author. Since then, I've been writing. I only have one rule: I write Every Single Day. I've now published 14 books. It's working.

About SPARK:   "Spark: How to write a book with your kids and why you should." It's not just the story of how I wrote 5 books together with my two young sons, but a collection of other families' stories as well as a guide for you to build a stronger bond with your children through creating something together.
If you have done something "creative" (term used loosely!) with your kids and had ANYthing positive as a result, I'd love to hear from you. Find out more at bradleycharbonneau.com/spark.
Until then, keep creating Every Single Day.
