What are we doing this for...this "life"? I mean really, WHO are you living for? Surprising how often that list is full of things outside of ourselves.

The names/labels we give ourselves, directly impacts how the world sees us. Who you see when looking at me now, is an entirely different person than who I used to be.

I spent a lot of time thumbing for lifts, in all sorts of environments. Always on the look out for someone going my way. Then I learned how to take the wheel and travel solo.

There's a generational belief that you have to "stick it out" in a job so that you build loyalty, toughness, and the all-important superannuation nest-egg. If you're like me and do not subscribe to this belief, you've likely been called a quitter or a flake - or something of that nature anyway. Pfft.....hold my beer!

Have you heard the phrase, "we are a product of our environment"? Children from abusive homes often do their best to avoid becoming an image of their abuser - we don't all succeed.

Geez.....we have a moment of self-reflection and suddenly think we're 6 degrees of separation from the Dalai Lama! How did I travel the road of self-exploration without becoming a self-righteous dick? (Or maybe I am a self-righteous dick...jury's still out on that one.)

Plenty of people have things hidden in their past...stuff in the closet, shadows they'd rather you didn't see. What would happen if we integrated those parts of ourselves and celebrated the triumph of stepping into the light - as a "whole" person??
