Avatar: The Last Podcasters

Unfortunately we were unable to record a standard episode this week, so Shawn selfishly seizes the opportunity to test the acoustics in his new setup, discuss his upcoming birthday fundraiser-raffle one last time, project possible content for the next month-plus, and to issue a small apology for the deviation in standard scheduling.

Happy Halloween from Avatar: The Last Podcasters! To celebrate, we discussed what halloween costumes (from our universe/reality) might be worn by each member of Team Avatar in both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend Of Korra, followed by an additional full-group costume idea at the end!

This week Chris and Shawn tackle another big, burning Avatar: The Last Airbender question: What if Aang never ran away? (The first time, after he found out he was the avatar and was worried they'd separate him from Gyatso.) We feel like it would've still made a really interesting series!

This week Chris and Shawn delve into a variety of tangents including Kobe's legacy being supplemented by Lebron's latest title, Shawn's slow nerd-cave-remodeling progress, adding charitable links to other peoples' YouTube videos, some fan feedback from our friend Barry, and a pair of really sad-sounding episodes of Scrubs that Chris really enjoys. Eventually we get the initially-really-chill-then-really-amped-up episode, The Legend of Korra Book 1: Air, Chapter 7, "The Aftermath."

This week Chris and Shawn welcome back our excellent guest Theo Brown to wrap up what we started, which (prior to delving very deeply into an awesome conversation about Avatars as NBA legends) was intended to be a discussion about The Legend of Korra Book 1: Air, Chapter 6, "And The Winner Is..." We hope you enjoyed our previous tangent, and that you're ready to wrap things up in this "part two."

This week Chris and Shawn welcome special guest Theo Brown to celebrate the happy coincidence that the 2020 NBA finals began on the week we intended to cover the pro bending championship episode! After learning a little about our guest and predicting the Lakers' victory (in 4 or 5 games, depending), we determine the perfect NBA-legend player-comps for every known Avatar. (Also, Shawn doesn't read instructions... again... and therefore does something totally different.) So in this episode, we never actually get to our review of The Legend of Korra Book 1: Air, Chapter 6, "And The Winner Is..." but we promise to do so next week, and we hope you enjoyed this tangent as much as we did.

This week Chris and Shawn talk about the creators' least favorite Korra episodes, the Annie's-Pen bottle episode of Community, romantic comedies that Shawn is too stubborn to try. They also pump up next week's episode, which comes with a fun twist! Finally, they get to their review of The Legend of Korra Book 1: Air, Chapter 5, "The Spirit Of Competition."

DISCLAIMER! I (Shawn) tested a different headset that sounds REALLY good for work (over Microsoft Teams), so I thought it might sound good on a Podcast too! I was very mistaken, and I'm very sorry for the fuzzy popping it caused in the audio. I won't be trying it again.
