Avatar: The Last Podcasters

We've made it to Season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender! And let us be the first (or some other larger number) to tell you that it starts off very strong! First we're introduced to an exciting (albeit over-the-top) villain and a sneaky good (under-the-bottom?) not-quite villain. THEN we meet some singing hippies/musical nomads who march the crew right into the Mines of Moria, but with badger moles and original earthbenders as opposed to orcs and balrogs. Come along for the ride!

Today is a very special day, because after wrapping up the EXCELLENT Avatar: The Last Airbender season 1 finale last time, this week we step back to talk about our top 5 favorite episodes from the first season!

We also talk a little about comicon, Chris' newest videos, the Dragon Prince, and our recently discovered new-favorite podcast host on the internet, Podcasts.com.

It's the season finale of Book One: Water, and it's our favorite episode to date (by a long-shot). This two-parter is filled with great character-arch, series-wide impact, heartfelt moments, and exciting action! We highly, highly recommend you watch it... and every other episode up to this point, save one or two. This episode is a serious turning point for our relationship with Avatar: The Last Airbender - like when you finally give the girl you've been seeing forever a spare key to your apartment - and we hope you feel the same way... but if not, that's probably fine too.

Oh... and happy Valentine's day I guess, if you're into that sort of thing.

Chris and Shawn take a break from their regular podcast schedule to talk about the Avatar: The Last Airbender comic books. This series falls canonically in between Avatar and The Legend of Korra, and is packed with interesting content and side stories from the podcast's favorite universe. Shawn is getting the urge to break into collecting comics, and thinks this may not be too bad a place to start.

This entry in the podcast about our favorite show - Avatar: The Last Airbender - covers episodes 17 & 18, "The Northern Air Temple" and "The Waterbending Master" from Season 1 (Book 1: Water). Shawn thinks the former would be one of his favorite episodes if it didn't feel quite so jam-packed, while Chris gets really excited at the big-picture significance of the latter.

Also, final shots are fired concerning our previous video-showdown between The Princess Bride and The Dragon Prince, which you should check out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baO2IoKSwj4&t=42s

Happy 2019!

Chris has never seen The Princess Bride. Shawn has never seen The Last Dragon. Until now.

Get our thoughts in a light-hearted comparison between the two movies, and some discussion about their surprising parallels.

This entry in the podcast about our favorite show - Avatar: The Last Airbender - covers episodes 15 & 16, "Bato of the Water Tribe" and "The Deserter" from Season 1 (Book 1: Water). Chris admits he hasn't seen The Princess Bride, but Shawn hasn't seen The Last Dragon or anything from My Hero Academia, so all's fair? Also we talk about some live-action stuff on Netflix, our holiday wishlists and, of course, the episodes in question.

Happy holidays!

This entry in the podcast about our favorite show - Avatar: The Last Airbender - covers episode 14, "The Fortuneteller" from Season 1 (Book 1: Water). It's a fairly cute, humorous episode, though Shawn has his problems with it. The last five minutes or so, at least, are excellent and they alone make it well-worth watching.

Enjoy!

This entry in the podcast about our favorite show - Avatar: The Last Airbender - covers the typically beloved episode 13, "The Blue Spirit" from Season 1 (Book 1: Water). It's an action-packed episode we both love, and we think most fans of the series will agree.

This entry in the podcast about our favorite show - Avatar: The Last Airbender - covers the typically beloved episode 12, "The Storm" from Season 1 (Book 1: Water). Chris falls in line, but Shawn's not so sure. In fact, the entire third disc of his old-school DVD set has underwhelmed him.
