 If the Lord himself—the most holy Creator, Sustainer, and King of all—can forgive through his merciful love, then who are we, as mere human beings, to withhold forgive ness from others? As we forgive those who have trespassed against us, we’re not only forgiven by the Father, but we’re given a greater understanding of the power, depth, and undeserved mercy of God’s forgiveness. Oh, the glory of his love and mercy in our lives!

 When Christ appeared on the earth, he fulfilled this scripture and successfully completed the Father’s plan for the reconciliation of humankind into the family of God. When God makes a promise, he keeps it! Once the promise was completed, all who would repent and believe in God’s only Son would be freed from the bleak sentence of eternal darkness and death and welcomed into eternal light and life.
