Awakening Church

How do you discover a vision big enough to give your life to? Many people embrace a vision that is too small and so it does not sustain them for a lifetime. Jesus gave his first followers a compelling call for their life. As a result, this ragtag small group revolutionized the world. Join us as we discover a God-sized vision for your life and for Awakening Church.

What will you fight for this new year? It’s a powerfully clarifying question. Answering this question well is the first step God uses to awaken a vision within us. Will you fight for your marriage? Will you fight for your integrity? Will you fight to be a man or woman of God?

Merry Christmas! Join us for the final installment of our Majesty series this Christmas Eve.

After the birth of Jesus, we are told, Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. Why was she treasuring these things in her heart? Obviously, she was treasuring the moments of being a new mother, but on a deeper level, she understood something to be true of her son: that he was the gift that would bring salvation to the whole world. Through Mary’s story, we see what love is and how we can receive God’s love: through treasuring him as a gift to us and for us.

A Majestic Baby King has been born, and it’s time to share the news! But instead of sending angels to proclaim this arrival to the noble and elite, God chose a group of lowly shepherds to be the first to hear this good news. This week we’ll experience this story through the lens of the shepherds and explore the JOY that is found in worshiping a God who sees the unseen.

When the early followers of Jesus described the events surrounding the birth of Jesus, they called it really good news. Something had taken place in the outskirts of Bethlehem that changed the world as we know it. Join us as we take a fresh look at the Christmas event through the eyes of Joseph to discover this good news afresh. This good news still has the power to change your world.

We begin our advent series in the place of Israel right before Jesus arrived: in the dark. We listen to the prophets to remind us that as the people of God we can be certain God has brought light to dark places. As Christians, we need not be afraid of dark times because Christ has come.

We are all on the pursuit for peace in this wildly disordered world. In our pursuit, we cannot seem to find peace that lasts. What if God promised us a peace that is full, whole, and not circumstantial? Join us as we explore how to have the peace God promises us.

This week, we continue our two part celebration of Above and Beyond. We look back at what God has done and is doing as well as look forward to what God has in store for us.

The Bible teaches us that generosity is the gateway to intimacy with God as we steward the Owner’s resources to please Him. In part one of Above and Beyond, pastor and author Chip Ingram provides motivation and practical application from Scripture to help each of us grow towards a life of greater giving.
