It's another episode of Kayla on the Road Trips where I record right from the car ON A ROAD TRIP. This week, Andrew and I are chatting about our biggest travel stressors, which just so happens to be travel days. We're laughing about our favorite travel day stories and sharing a few of our tips for airports, flights, and how to minimize stress related to travel days.

In the world after the coronavirus pandemic one thing that we've seen a major shift in is the number of jobs that allow people to work remotely. Now more than ever before traveling and working is within all of our grasps, so how do we choose where to travel and work? I consider these three simple things every time I open up my flight finder.
Welcome back to Kayla on the Road: the podcast. This week I'm chatting about my time in Norwich, England and how I balanced life as a business owner with that of a tourist. Little did I know when I got there in 2016 that I would actually discover my ideal working day routine. Let's figure out what yours is and where that can take you.

Smell is a powerful thing. So powerful that one whiff of an old cologne can bring you back to the memory of an old flame. In the same way, one sniff of a favourite food can bring you back to an important memory or the first time you tried it, possibly even to the streets of the country you tried it in. Today I’m feeling nostalgic for traveling so while we were out grocery shopping on Andrews lunch hour we decided to pick up the ingredients for Pho. Join me in the kitchen today as I chat about smell, travel, and why your nose can be your best friend in a world without travel. Welcome to episode 14 of Kayla on the Road: the podcast.

You've booked flights to your dream destination, now it's time to book accommodations. I know I've talked about Hotels, Hostels, and Airbnbs in the past but this week on episode 11 of Kayla on the Road: the podcast I'm chatting with my good friend, Allyson Spieler all about her adventures and life as a digital nomad for the past year and a half. As is to be expected, Allyson, and her husband Aaron, have used everything from Airbnb to Trusted House Sitters to book accommodations and now she's on the show to talk about it all.

You just spent a year’s worth of savings to take your dream trip. You’re excited and nervous and with that head in the clouds feeling you step out into the bustling new city unaware of what’s around the corner. You struggle with your map and try to figure out where you are when a friendly local approaches and offers to help you. What do you do? Although there are some really great people in the world, when you’re traveling it’s hard not to stick out and attract the unwanted attention of scammers. Trust me, I’ve been there. Actually this exact scenario. And we accepted the help only, it wasn’t that helpful.
Hello and welcome to episode 10 of Kayla on the Road: the podcast. I cannot believe I’ve made it to episode 10 already! I have to say, I have some of the best listeners out there. I appreciate every review, message, and share so much and am so excited to keep bringing you new episodes weekly. If you’re new here, welcome! I’m so happy you decided to stop by! Today, I’m talking about something that a lot of traveler’s deal with while on the road, scammers. We’ve fallen for a few scams during our travels, 3 to be exact, but it's better than all 6 of these common traveler scams.

A couple of weeks ago on Intsagram I asked about your top travel troubles and an overwhelming amount of you said you want help with finding affordable flights. I recorded an entirely different episode last week BUT I realized the number one thing to keep in mind when it comes to affordable travel is flexibility. So settle in, grab a drink, and get ready for the 3 ways it pays to be flexible when it comes to affordable travel. Welcome to episode 9 of Kayla on the Road: the podcast.

Is anyone else feeling like their feet are itchy? I’m sure I’m not the only one who wants to get on a plane and explore a new place for a bit. I’m getting so tired of the same sights and sounds. Earlier this year the entire travel and tourism industry was tipped on it’s head as borders closed and countries shut down. Never in our lives have we ever seen something like this before. Needless to say, getting back on the road will not be as easy as it once was. Let’s take a look at travel in the age of Covid-19. Welcome to Episode 8 of Kayla on the Road: the podcast. Covid-19 and the effects that came with it hit me hard! I was actually out on the road when stuff started to shut down all over Canada and getting home was a constant loop of booking a flight, getting a cancellation notice, and getting on the phone with a representative. Since returning home airlines all over the world have been filing for bankruptcy and airlines right here at home have closed some of their routes permanently to deal with the losses attached to the lack of business during the worldwide Covid-19 shut down. Needless to say travel in 2020 and beyond will look a little different than before.
