An album about life transitions, the continuation of culture and the importance of passing down stories, The Show Will Go On is the debut from Torres Strait Islander hip-hop artist Mau Power.
Saltwater Country explores the connections between Queensland's Indigenous artists and their coastal country. The exhibition features the work of established Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists as well as the next generation like Megan Cope and Ryan Presley. Saltwater Country is currently on at the Gold Coast City Gallery until 31st August.
It's the oldest form of sharing knowledge and culture but in a rapidly changing world, what is the importance of oral history and has this voice been silenced? In May, the State Library of Queensland hosted five panellists who discussed the relevance of modern storytelling, the validity of oral history versus written history and who our stories really serve.
