Ideas for The Time Between Christmas and New Year to Make Your Home More Enjoyable to Be In
Here's a typed-out list of the 12 ideas:
Don’t rush to take down your Christmas just because you feel like you HAVE to. But if you have a day during this week when you prefer to take yours down then do. You could also replace this with a plan for when you would like to take things down and get that on the calendar instead. Then enjoy what’s up or not and be peaceful and calm about it.
Do get intentional about your morning and night routines. Get your personal hygiene on lock during this time and add in ONE other thing (phone off by this time, workout on these mornings, etc.)
Do clean rooms and wash sheets (leave a blanket for drying right before bed and ENJOY the warm hug feeling:)
Break down all cardboard and take that and the paper to recycling or put in your own recycling for pick up day.
Clean bathrooms, toilets, counters, light switches, and door knobs.
Rearrange your mugs to have them just how you like them so they’re ready for when you need a warm cozy tea, hot chocolate, or coffee.
Wash and dry all your blankets and add an essential oil you love in the winter to the wash and the dryer balls. Place them nicely folded in a basket where they’re easy to reach for when you need the cozy.
Set out (go to the library and get 1-2 if needed) books that are winter-themed or personal development themed and stack them where you usually sit on your phone.
Change your smoke detector batteries.
Go through any socks that you don’t like, have holes, are itchy, etc. Good quality ones donate and others get rid of as you’d like. Your KEEP socks, organize in a way that makes you happy when you go to grab a cozy pair of socks for the day.
Create a special essential oil blend for winter, add witch hazel, place it in a spray bottle and spray on your pillows before bed. This will trigger your brain with winter cozy. (follow @hayleyhobson for more ideas on how to make special blends for times of the year, sleep, etc.)
Buy or make chemical-free candles (beeswax with EO) and set those in areas where you will SEE to light them.Let me know what you end up doing!
