Hayley Boswell may not have served as a former SOCOMD operative or deployed overseas, but her impact on the lives of hundreds of ADF Members and their families is profound, all through her work as a children's author!

As a mother, Hayley grappled with the challenge of explaining the significance of her husband's job and his extended absences to their daughter. Out of this concern, Defence Kidz was born! Originally created for her own daughters, it soon became a valuable resource for numerous defence children nationwide.

A very special guest on this episode of Axons Unleashed, Adrian Sutter, has a familiar story to any Veteran. Discharging from the military after his sister’s passing from cancer, Adrian struggled with his own mental health, which eventually led to thoughts of suicide. Soon after, one of his closest mates took his own life in the throes of his own struggles. This was Adrian’s action point. Everything about him was saying no more! This is where Swiss 8 was born. Hear the rest of this story in heart-wrenching (but incredibly important) detail as Adrian joins RT and Luke for a monumental episode of Axons Unleashed that asks us all to be better at life.

Wheels Up! Get ready for some banter and hilarity in this episode of Axons Unleashed as fellow veteran, property-based small business-owner, Phil Game, joins RT and Luke in the studio. RT’s story and evolution into the property industry is very similar to Phil's (and the similarities don’t stop there! He even has a Tammy…) Phil tells us his journey from growing up in Papua New Guinea, to a poor Uni student in Sydney, loving the cockpit of a helicopter in the Australian Army, and his success story of another Veteran living his best life. 

Alongside the Axon boys, this episode touches on knowing when it's time to transition, the importance of long-term planning in business and the enduring friendships formed in the ADF.

An uncommon story even amongst our guests, Sam tells his incredible journey from enlistment as a teenager, to discharge shortly after, to despair as a civvie, and back into the ADF again  -proudly serving his country. 

This is a journey that would not be possible without serious doses of humility and reflection of past mistakes, with the seeking of improvement.
