Tropical Storm Fay has come and gone. She brought rain and wind to the Jersey Shore and parts of New York. A 600 mile long derecho impacted Montana and North Dakota leaving behind wind damage. The heatwave is building from Arizona and spreading east into Texas and Oklahoma, while storms are forecasted to impact the Central Plains tonight. Bobby gets lost in a Hamilton rabbit hole, Bonnie complains about the heat, and we dive into a bunch of other topics.

The tropics have finally started to heat up. Tropical depression five has formed in the Atlantic. A heat wave will spread across the country this week. Phoenix, Arizona is already dealing with temperatures over 110 degrees.

The Saharan Dust has arrived into the US and while its making for beautiful sunrises and sunsets, it is making air quality terrible. The dust is also wreaking havoc with the tropics in the Atlantic. "Twister" the weather cult classic is getting a reboot. Details are sketchy, but it could be good. Bonnie and Bobby are holding out hope that it will be good.

The tropics have been fairly quiet the last week or so, but with two areas of interest in the Eastern Pacific and one in the Atlantic, the tropics are back on the radar. While all three areas are unlikely to really effect anything, its still something to note. Bonnie just returned from a float trip along the Illinois River in Oklahoma. You won't want to miss her hard seltzer review and frankly its not what you would expect. We also take the NWS "Haz Simp" survey and break down what the changes to the current WWA model could mean.

Tropical Storm Cristobal made its way north into Canada, leaving behind a trail of heavy rains, storm surge, and winds. Last Saturday, a long tracking derecho made its way from Utah to North Dakota. Winds gusted as high as 110mph and the derecho impacted areas in at least seven states. Yesterday, June 13th, a weak tornado was reported just outside of Portland, Oregon. Video shows the twister throwing debris into the air. NWS Portland was sending a survey team out today to determine the strength.

Tropical Storm Cristobal will be coming ashore shortly in Louisiana. A tornado touched down in Orlando yesterday as a result of energy from Cristobal, several hundred miles away. Back in Oregon, last week we discussed a possible tornado in Culver, OR. NWS Pendleton sent a survey team out to look at the damage and determined that it was straight line winds that did the damage. Bonnie got to see an amazing shelf cloud and we discuss our taco restaurant choices.

The 2020 Atlantic Hurricane season starts on Monday, but we've already gone through two named storms and all eyes are now turning to the Gulf of Mexico where Pacific Tropical Storm Amanda is slowly weakening. There is a chance that what ever remains of her will enter into the Gulf of Mexico and could reform. That has us thinking, should we still call her Amanda or does she become Cristobal? How about Amanda-Cristobal or Amandobal? Central Oregon got rocked by supercells yesterday. Lots of wind and hail damage, one possible tornado, and the first ever "enhanced" categorical rating was issued by SPC for Oregon and Washington.

We celebrate our 100th episode of B Squared: Your Weekly Weather Podcast. NOAA issued the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane outlook forecast and we break down the official first forecast. The Atlantic Hurricane Season doesn't officially start until June 1st, but that hasn't stopped an early season storm from forming. Tropical Storm Arthur is spinning his way up the eastern seaboard. Storms were scheduled to fire mid-week in the plains, but a less known phenomenon took shape Thursday morning over parts of the Oklahoma City Metro area. The Wake Low and corresponding Heat Burst dominated the early morning weather headlines. We take a look into what these are and how they impact the atmosphere.

We celebrate Bonnie's Birthday on this episode of B Squared. Storms fired up in the plains and in the south this week, as a polar vortex made its way through the upper Midwest and up the east coast. Even Central Park saw snow.
