Should we watch TV or not? 

There is a vast trend of Telivision now a days. Onw switches on the TV and what does the TV shoes? If there is gurbani streaming then he can listen to it. If you hear a religious concept by which you get motivated to move with the Almighty then there is no problem in watching that or you see a serial which is related to the Lord that inspires us. If the TV is showing shows like this than to meet the lord a devotee is praying it comes on the TV that how did Namdev meet the Lord If things like this come on the TV then we should watch as to get inspiration and motivation. But, If there are universal issues being shown what is happening in the world etc bright clothes and advertisement stuff then we become universal. We should not watch TV in that sense The Universal issues are waste the wordly things are negatively correlated with spirituality they take us away from the spiritual powers. So, I mean to say is do not watch the universal issues in the TV if the TV is showing the life of a highly enlightened being ors something motivating you to move on the spiritual path life of a highly enlightened being there is no problem in watching that. Whatever you see you may inherit that the universal issues and waste that will enter inside you. That's why it is better not to watch the TV as much as possible but if there is something shown like positive story or a life of devotee for your knowledge and love you should watch that by what your mind gets attached to the Lord. If you watch the universal issues on the T.V then you may get away from the Almighty but if you watch a good thing like story of a devotee etc. That may inspire to meet the Almighty  That's why I say as much as possible don't watch the Television don't show them to children. But where there is an educational thing shown by what we get motivated to study or recite God's name there is no problem in watching that.

We should put photographs of Saints, Lords in our home or not, according to Sikhism?  There is a very common question among ordinary people that what is the importance or significance of photographs? Shall the photos be displayed or worshiped or not? Some people even do this, they keep photo of a highly enlightened being or Guru Sahib in front of them and they worship it. This is all Idol Worship. Worshipping a photo is illogical and myths. But if someone worship the photo with a pure heart that Maharaj I need your blessings and enlightenment to take the blessings he keeps the photo in front of him and meditates, like he places the photo of Guru Gobind Singh ji or Guru Nanak Dev ji and begins to medidate on name slowly but surely and by that slowly but surely there is improvement in him. When there is improvement The physical photo is eliminated and the real photo of Guru Nanak Dev ji emerges within the soul. The blessings of the God's name are most important. There is a saakhi (Story) of a Brahmin named Ramanand Gaur Brahmin "Eaek Dhivas Man Bhee Oumang" "Ghas Chandhan Choa Bahu Sugandh" "Pojan Chale Breham Thae" "So Breham Bathaeiou Gur Man Hee Mahi" "Kath Jaaeeai Rae Ghar Laago Rang" He says first I kept on worshipping idols to attain God He used to worship But he did it with a true heart then he found God. He has mentioned that in his Baani "Eaek Dhivas Man Bhee Oumang" "Pojan Chale Breham Thae" He used to go and worship the idols That the God he was searching in idols actually the God was within him. "Kath Jaaeeai Rae Ghar Laago Rang" The Lord is inside me I have to worship him. Gurmukho, these are the ways to reach to God. The one who is only occupied with universal issues and he doesn’t have the divine knowledge. So, he tries to find out God in those pictures but at least he gets inspiration from that but the photo should not get settled inside him. He should observe the enlightenments of Guru Sahib that they has recited the name and been so great And why not I recite the God's name. So, he should gather inspiration from photographs but he should not worship the photo. So I mean to say is, Namdev has done the same thing. His father also used to feed milk to the idols.

What is the importance of Sewa & Simran & What is more important?  "Seva Karat Hoi Nihakame" "Tis Kau Hot Parapat Suame" After performing sewa you should not say you did it, rather you should say o' Lord you made me do this. And when you realize this that God made me do this O Lord I am not able to do it on my own. Then only he will get the blessings of Almighty. He becomes a devotee and says Maharaj has guided me to do all this only God has done not me. There are two relevant Saakhis (stories) After doing sewa if you say I have done it and expects people to appreciate you in return that is not called sewa. Sant Teja Singh ji Maharaj has written very good Sakhis (stories) to depict this. There are two married women They do a lot of sewa for their husbands and they serve their husbands till they are exhausted. One fine evening husband of one woman says, you did a lot of sewa of me. She joined her hands and said softly Maharaj, I have not done it you made me do it. I am too naive what can I do. I am foolish, I cannot do something on my own. You have gave the guidance, you have made me done it and the Almighty God blessed her. The second woman she also does a lot of sewa for her husband. The whole day she works and her husband said nothing to her in the evening, then she taunts her husband, I have worked a lot today I am very tired and you have not spoke a word in my appreciation. All her sewa has gone to vain, because she has evolved ego that someone should praise me. "Seva Karat Hoi Nihakame" "Tis Kau Hot Parapat Suame" Do sewa and say I have not done it, O Lord you made me do it. This is the importance of sewa, that your first priority should be sewa. Because by doing sewa ego dispels and with the dispelling of ego you get attached to the name of Almighty. And the receitation of name is the sewa of the God. We recite Waheguru Waheguru that is the sewa of Waheguru. And than God will reside inside us. This is the greatest sewa of all and by reciting his name by doing sewa. Our mind is cleaned you become more grounded you become humble Your ego disappears only when all this happen to you, as I narrated the Sakhi (Story).

Should we wear coat pant or not? Does Bana impact the condition of our conscious or not?  There is a lot of difference between the clothes we wear and the Baana we attain. Whenever we wear the Baana, we should wear it as a blessing of Guru Sahib. Baana represents our surrender to Guru the simple and clean uniform. So, that people don’t think of that as something to be focused or representing fashion. If you wear simple clothes with no extra elements it will have influence on your mind and soul and if you wear fashionable clothes you will only be trapped in the race of showing of and attracting people to applaud praise. That will originate ego inside you, that I am so well dressed and others are praising me and are attracted to my outer self they all are observing me. With this thinking the ego rises and you won’t get the blessings of the Lord. To be showered with the blessings of the Guru you should follow a great quote, 'Simple Living and High Thinking' Your lifestyle should be simple, but your thinking and thoughts should be high. High thinking means you shall connect to the God So, there is a keen effect of Baana we wear on our inner self. And if you are well dressed you will only hear people praise you they will compliment you by acclaiming you are very good looking. This will boost your ego. And when we will accept living simple and living for ourselves even if someone don’t appreciate our looks at least we are spiritually attached to God. There will be no material craze within us the fashion inside us takes us away from our values and God. So, precisely i want to address that Concepts like show off, attaining appreciation and fashionable clothes. They are negatively correlated with spirituality. If he has his whole focus on his outer looks and clothes then he does not have love and admiration for the Almighty he only loves dressing up. He has love for fashion and materialistic world. He has no devotion for the Lord and he can only feel love for the Lord If he does not focus on materialistic things like clothing and appreciation. And pursue living with simplicity. It is a great quote, 'Simple Living and High Thinking' Live simple and your real focus should be on the Almighty and how to connect your devotion to the God. That is the true high thinking. So, that’s why clothes have a big effect on our mind live with simplicity. Firstly be the student of spirituality the one who is walking on the spiritual path to Almighty he shall live a life of simplicity totally simple he should not wear attractive clothes. So, that the other people don’t get attracted to you or appreciate you. Wear clean clothes, washed and tidy. If you will lead a simple life then your mind will remain attached to the Almighty. When your mind gets attached and devoted to the Almighty and you lose yourself into the divine God you will get so aligned to God. After that whatever clothes you may wear you would not have the effect of them on your mind or soul.

What is the importance of Karah Prashad as per Gurmat and does it make any impcat on the condition of mind when you have Karah Prashad?  When we bake the "Karah Prashad" then the five 'Baani" are recited. The way to bake the "Karha Prashad" of the old times is that while baking the "Karha Prashad" the man recite the "Baani" and the 'Baani' and the 'baani' enters the 'karha Prashad'. The "Baani" enters inside then it no longer remains a common eatable or like other sweet eatables being sold at the shop. In that when the 'Baani' enters inside. What is the interntion? It is that to keep the Prashad in front of the Guru Sahib, because its importance has increased. And while baking it, we just need to continue reciting the 'Baani' So that the 'Baani' enters the 'Karha Prashad" and it becomes holy. Then we keep it in the presence of the lord. We believe that it is the 'Prashad' of the Lord. This 'Karha Prashad' is not from a shopkepper's shop. No one has made it. At that time we need to understand that "O, Lord this is your'Prashad' and if we take it as he 'Prashad' of the lord then onl we will feel love of the Almighty and the love will increase. Firstly we recite the name and 'Baani'. Secondly we believe that Guru Sahib has offered me this 'Prashad' Have it as the 'Prashad' of the Guru, that will make you more close to him. 'Karha Prashad' is the 'Prashad' of the Guru. We should accept it as a 'Prashad'. We should not take it as our taste. Whether it sweet and delicious. That's why we like it. Then it would not be 'Prashad' anymore. When we get 'Prashad' we should understand that we are getting the blessings of the Guru. How much we get, we should accept it with love and slowly eat and side by side recite the name 'Waheguru' and make sure it does not fell on the floor. And you should not behave like that, the 'Prashad' is delicious, give me more. Then it does not remain 'Prashad' anymore it becomes a delicious eatable. And if we accept it wih love that Guru Sahib, that is your 'Prashad'.  This is a blessing given by you. I shall accept this blessings with love inside me. So that Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment and Ego, the five thieves inside us should run away. If he eats the 'Prashad' with this thinking, then only will he have the blessings of the Lord. And if he accepts it with the taste, then there may be no difference between the 'halwa' in the shop and the 'Parshad'. This is the stage of mind. We have to accept the 'Prashad' as of the Guru. The five 'Baanis' have entered that when the man prepare the 'Prashad' he recites the 'Baani'. He recites either Japji Sahib or any other Baani So, it enters inside. So, the 'Prashad' of the Guru is not like an Ordinary 'halwa' like the ones prepare at the shops. This is the 'Prashad' of the Guru. The Baani has settled inside it, and the Guru is present in it. When we keep it in front of Guru Granth Sahib ji and the love and kindness originates when we eat it in front of the Guru. We get blessings of the Lord. And we join with him.

In this case we should not stop. We should continue doing ‘paath’ If we stop doing ‘paath’ then it would be a defeated mentality. We have lost then. Yes, the spiritual vibrations arrive. Gurmukho, when we do ‘paath’. This is natural that. The five thieves inside us. Lust, Rage, Anger, Attachment and Conceit, They are inside us. We are busy in other issues. So, we don’t come to know about them. We are busy in universal issues, business etc. So we don’t come to  know about these thieves. When we sit alone. And we recite the ‘baani’. Then they disturb us inside in different ways. Like sometimes they say, “now why are you not reciting the name”? We should not worry at that time.  At that time we should recite the name and the ‘baani’ And with continuing this, Then slowly the thieves come out of us. I earlier told you that There is a pit. There is lot of mud at its bottom. And there is pure water on the top. And the observers come and see. They say, It is very pure and drinkable water. And the ones living there say there is garbage inside. “Where is it? “ “It is at the bottom” When they bring a pipe of pure water. And when they poured the water inside with force. Then the garbage comes on the top. Then they say, The water was so pure but it had garbage at the bottom. Just like that We look good from outside. But there is much dust in our hearts. And when the pure water is continuously poured inside. Then the stagnated water comes out along with all the garbage. And at last the water becomes totally pure. Just like that our mind is a pit. If there is garbage like lust, rage ,anger, attachment and conceit inside the pit. We are busy in other issues and gossipping with friends. But we are not able to see them Because our attention is somewhere else. Our focus is on the universal issues. And we put more garbage with greed inside. And when we begin reciting the name. Then we have thoughts inside. That why am I reciting his name? Why am I reciting the ‘baani’ And the weak ones get scared at this stage. With the thinking that earlier I had not got these thoughts. And now by reciting the ‘baani’ I have started getting my attention somewhere else. Because the garbage inside had come out. When it comes out, it is very uncomfortable to people. At that time we should not worry. As you will begin reciting the ‘name or the ‘gurbani’ The five thieves will come outside. Just like how the stagnated water comes out of the pit. Slowly Slowly it comes out. And finally the ‘baani’ will settle inside you. When it gets settled. Your mind joins with the “Naam Roopi Atam Dev”. Then with the blessings of the Lord will be in love  with the Almighty.

Should you recite path in Gathering or is it to be done alone ?   A devotee or a student of spirituality moving on the divine path firstly when he is not in a positive ‘Sangat’. He is not able to focus on the Almighty. When he is in a sangat. He observes them and is inspired by them and he is motivated that if  they are doing why not I? That’s why being in a ‘Sangat’ is very important in the first. There is effect of the Sangat on him. He observes that They are reciting ‘baani’ with love. They are so focused. Then he has thoughts in his mind. And when he is used to. And more in love with the Almighty. After that he can do ‘paath’ of his own even alone. Recite the name He can do it alone.  Firstly it is important to be with the sangat "Vich Sangat Har Prabh Vasse Jio" In the starting he has to recite the baani with the ‘Sangat’ And after that he can do it alone. Because he is in ‘Sangat’ with the Almighty itself So this is  the last step. Those who are walking on the path of the Almighty are called Sangat. The first Sangat is When you go to the gurdwara. Sit in the Sangat and recite the name and ‘Baani’ And you are very excited of it. That all the other devotees are praying. And I shall also do the same. Firstly you are aware of that there. And when the awareness continues. Then he wants to join  the Sangat office ‘Baani’ He is in the sangat of Baani. And the baani tells him to join with the name. When he recited the ‘Baani’ “Waho Waho Baani Nirankar Hai” Recitess the baani with love. The the baani transforms into the Name. And at last with continuing this. He joins with the Almighty God. So this is a ladder with steps. Firstly he is excited to join the Sangat. That I shall recite the name of the Lord. All are reciting. And there the spiritual vibrations enter their hearts. There are good and bad people. And when they are together. Then the spiritual vibrations They enter inside his heart. And after it enters his heart then he is more excited This is the influence of the ‘Sangat’ Which means the by joining the ‘Sangat’ And by reciting the name of the Almighty. The spiritual vibrations enter his heart. And he is excited. Then he continues to recite the name of the Lord. Then he alone joins the Almighty’s Sangat. And in love with the Lord in his sangat. In the third step he meditates for the Almighty. These are the three stages.

This is a good question. The one who hasn’t understood the meaning of gurbani. He is a new face. He is told to recite. The concept  is O God’s beings The overall concept is. “Sach Kaho Sun Leyo Sabhe” “Jin Prem kiyo Tin Hi Prabh Paayo” The effect of love is away from ‘Me’ Beyond Ego. Egoless, So, someone recites the baani with love. He has not got the teachings of baani. And he recites with love. Even if he does not understand the words grammatically. The meaning Guru Sahib has explained in that. What is the meaning. That enters him. The Guru settles in him Even if we usually say. Get the teachings. Recite the gurbani with correct pronunciation. But some are those who get the teachings and even recite correct. But then also their minds are gambled. There are certain examples. Maskeen Sahib ji has also said. There are some ‘Granthis’ for forty years, their whole life. They have recited the ‘Akhand Paath’ of Guru Gobind Singh ji  But still presently their attachment, conceit and ego has not finished. Because they have done that for money. Sant Attar Singh ji Maharaj has said, The one who has the habit of doing this. “ Khoti Vaahli, Kise ne Pothi Vaahli, Ik Barabar hai” Because where is the influence on mind. What are you doing with your mind. So, you have to do it with love It is better to get ‘Santhya’ (gurbani classes)  After getting that you have to read it pure. And that is very good. If it is not available. There was a story of a ‘Rishi’ That he started reciting ‘Mara Mara’ instead of ‘Rama Rama’ His ‘Mara Mara’ became very famous  Reciting ‘Mara Mara’ he met the almighty. What is your perspective. The effect of love is very far from ‘Me’ Very far from ‘ego’ This is the complete thing. If there comes a simple devotee even if he hasn’t got the ‘Santhya’ And he recites it with love. And he is in love. And by reciting it with love  His baani will itself get correct. The lord will correct it with love. The meaning of Baani will enter inside him. Rest we should have ‘Santhya’ Everything is to be done. After getting ‘Santhya After reciting the correct Gurbani If we hate those who haven’t got ‘Santhya’ If hate originates inside us. Then what have we learnt in ‘Santhya.’ And what rules have we followed of the Gurbani. Gurbani says, “Sab Meh Jot Jot Hai Soye, "Tis De Chanan Sab Meh Chanan Hoye” Whom shall I hate. Whom shall I love. There was a fakir named ‘Bullah’ Very great. Bulleh Shah said. The almighty isn’t far away from us. But there is no eye to see it. We have to create that eye. Maharaj has said in the baani “Saach Kaho sun Leyo Sabhe, "Jin Prem Kiyo Tin Hi Prabh Paayo.” What was the need for Maharaj to tell the truth. Maharaj says to fools like us. “I am saying the truth.” Guru Gobind Singh Ji says “I am saying the truth.” Listen, “Saach Kaho Sun Leyo Sabhe, "Jin Prem Kiyo Tin Hi Prabh Paayo.” Love is beyond ego.

How does Baani enter the Water and how is it converted into Amrit?  There is a common question among people. That we recite the Five ‘Baanis’ After we put the sugar balls in water. we put the sugar balls in water. we recite the Five ‘Baanis’ Then it becomes Amrit. How does it become amrit. When we read out the five ‘Baanis’ The meaning of the sugar balls is That the water gets more suitable. To recite the ‘baani’ with it. When we recite the baani. It enters the water of sugar balls. Enters inside and then it has a effect of the ‘Baani’ And from a water of sugar balls, it gets transformed into amrit. And such crystals of the almighty are formed. On drinking them we get close to the almighty. Japan had conducted a big experiment. They kept two models of water. In one water, They abused verbally and spoke very rude to it. And when they analysed it. There were negative crystals formed inside the water there were crystals formed. Which are very dangerous for a human body. Secondly in the same water Which they had divided into two. They recited the name of the almighty, They spoke very positive for the sake of humanity. When they spoke those words. And they analysed it. Positive crystals were formed. The drinking water was pure for health It was health condensive. And in the one they had abused. That had become a water of diseases. They have done this scientifically. And this is why we recite Gurbani. By mixing the sugar balls in water. “Waho waho Baani Nirankaar Hai” Baani is a phenomenon of the lord. It is the phenomenon of the almighty. When we recite it. Power of the almighty enters the water. And that turns into Amrit. As, I have told the crystals are formed. And they are joined to the almighty. Becomes the phenomenon of the almighty. That ‘s why it is called Amrit. Why Amrit? Because Baani has entered that. That‘s why it is called Amrit. If the baani is entering inside. The water becomes divine and spiritual. Which will break the rage, lust, greed, attachment and conceit. They say about the five thieves This will break  rage, lust, greed, attachment and conceit. That is why  Wherever you read it enters everywhere. You will cook food. It will enter that. In the past times. The women would do the path of Japji Sahib before cooking the meals The food would be very delicious. The mind would get peace. This is the effect of Baani. How to control the Feeling of Lust?  Lust is such a issue that the important issue is. It spoils everything. It finishes the familiars and strangers. The person is busy in ‘lust’ the journey of lust begins with From where the life of a man is spoiled. When a man is involved in sex. All the negative values enter inside him. And the attachment also arises. The only way to get rid of lust is Love the ‘Baani’Love the ‘Baani’ and say. "Sab Meh Jot Jot Hai Soye" "Tis De Chanan, Sab Meh Chanan Hoye". When that man realizes there is a spiritual power in everyone. There is spiritual power in a woman. I too have that spiritual power. My wife also has that spiritual power. My brothers also have that spiritual power. The strangers also have that power. And when he understands this. Then he gets rid of lust because he starts loving the spiritual power. The mind has to be settled somewhere. We would only be safe from lust. If he would love something else. And what is that thing? The almighty inside. He should feel love for the almighty. This is the only way. That firstly he should recite the ‘baani’ with love. Then he should recite the name. Then he should create ‘Dasvandh’ "Ghaal Khaae Kich Hathahu Dae" The greatest thing is  ‘Dasvandh’ He should work hard. Take out ‘Dasvandh’ Then he should find the path which path? The path to the almighty. At that moment. He gets rid of ‘lust’  Also gets rid of ‘rage’ to be safe from lust there is one way. Get attached to the almighty. Maharaj, you are in everyone. I can only find you in everyone. Then you may not feel ‘lust’No matter how beautiful the woman is. All the other daughters are all one. There is no other way. There is love. The more you love the ‘baani’ and the lord. Then only you may understand There is ‘waheguru’ settled in them. If the lord is settled why shall I be negative. If he understands this. That the woman he is having sex with there is the lord inside. The almighty is watching all this. If he understands this. Then he is not involved in lust. He remains disciplined. If one child has taken birth. Until the child has  started drinking milk. Upto 4 or 5 years. Sant ji maharaj has said. Don’t do anything. Sex is only there to make young ones. It is not made for pleasure. This is a discipline by the lord. Upto the time the child drinks milk. One husband should not make physical relation with the women.
