RE-RELEASE OF EPISODE
On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing "Everybody’s talking about Jamie", the stage musical focusing on sixteen year old Jamie as he steps into the spotlight and follows his dreams to be a drag queen. I decided to review this musical as I got the chance to see it when it was in Edinburgh last month and international drag queen day happens on the 16th July, so I may be a bit premature, but I just couldn't wait any longer!

RE-RELEASE OF EPISODE
On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing "Loveless", an anime where twelve year old Ritsuka is looking into the mysterious death of his brother with the help of his brother's previous fighter partner. I remember watching this as a teenager and being quite obsessed with it, and so thought it might be good to look over something from my younger Babeushka days and seeing if it actually holds up, or if nostalgia has been lying about how good this was!

RE-RELEASE OF EPISODE
On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing "Gracefully Grayson" by Ami Polonsky, a story about a story of a teenager auditioning for a school play while coming to acceptance with her gender. I decided that for International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia it would be good to look at a book where we get examples of transphobia and homophobia, not just from external sources but also from those within our own household. Since the 2022 theme is “Our Bodies, Our Lives, Our Rights'', it felt even more important to discuss a book that deals with someone having to stand up to their peers and family to be who they are.

RE-RELEASE OF EPISODE
On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing "Patrik, 1.5", a 2008 Swedish film focused on a gay couple seeking to adopt a child with some surprises in store. Since we have International Family Equality Day this month, why not turn our eyes towards the story of a happily married couple looking to adopt and expand their happy family!

RE-RELEASE OF EPISODE
On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing " Girl in Red", an indie pop project of Marie Ulven Ringheim, with the moniker coming from a time when Marie was attempting to identify herself in a crowd to a friend via text. The subject matter usually ranges from heartbreak and romance, to mental illness and the lived experience of being queer.

RE-RELEASE OF EPISODE
On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing "But I’m a Cheerleader", a 1999 film about a teenager being sent off to a conversion camp by her parents. And this episode I am joined by the one and only Sister Alaska Lott to also get their thoughts on this lovely bit of queer media. As such, the points written below are a mash-up of both our opinions, as we both had quite similar feelings on this film as you will find out ;)

RE-RELEASE OF EPISODE
On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing "King Cobra", a 2016 film with a fictional interpretation of the real events around porn star Brent Corrigan and part of the adult entertainment industry. As we have International Sex Worker’s Day this month, or as it is know in Germany, ‘Whores Day’, I wanted to find some media that focused on the world of adult enterainment. Well, media that wasn’t littered with cheesy music, terrible acting, and a lot of moaning! I am sure you don’t want me going about picking apart porn, nobody has the time to review ALL OF THAT!

RE-RELEASE OF EPISODE
On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing "GameBoys", a Filipino series set during the covid pandemic and Luzon island community quarantine and how a live-stream gamer and his fan connect. I have decided to go with this piece of media since I have actually just recently binged watched it on Netflix and thought it might be good to start taking us away from always having English being the main language of the media we review. It’s gonna happen as we seek to look at stories of queer people from all over the world, so we may as well get used to subtitles now!

RE-RELEASE OF EPISODE
On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing "You brought me the ocean", a DC comic by Alex Sanchez and Julie Maroh that introduces us to reimagined version of Aqualad as a gay teenager planning for his future after high school. My first two picks for media so far have had quite a white, European focus, so I thought it would be nice to review a different type of medium that focuses on an african-american story instead.

RE-RELEASE OF EPISODE
On this episode, Babeushka is reviewing " Bent", a 1997 film that revolves around the persecution of homosexuals in Nazi Germany after the Night of the Long Knives, which was a purging of Nazi leaders by Hitler. As we are still in LGBTQ+ history month in the UK, I thought it only fair to have another historic look at queer people through media, but this time a little closer to our time than Ancient Greece.
