The Fragile is an album that takes you along for the ride as Trent Reznor searches for who he really is after fame and money changed him for the worse. An incredible follow up to The Downward Spiral, The Fragile is an album that is so meticulously put together that it is understandable why it took 2 years to write and record. Also, there was this cool function on the DVD where you could control  the cameras, so that was very much appreciated after I'd just been stung by Slipknot's, Welcome to our Neighbourhood VHS. I'm still tempted to write to Consumer Affairs about that one.

We're talking Green Day's massive album, American Idiot. Is it a concept album? Does labelling an album a concept album automatically make it better than if it was not a concept album?

If you’re a hardcore Arch Enemy fan, you already know this album is great. It’s Angela Gossow’s favourite and we do our best to discuss it but we get a tiny bit sidetracked talking about death, Mount Eerie, Cruel Intentions and New Zealand festivals.

One of us was already a massive Garbage fan and the other only started paying attention to them 7 days ago. We're the new podcast version of the Odd Couple. But is this going to be like when you try and show someone a Youtube video that you love at a house party and the person obviously isn't into it but then you make them keep watching it hoping for some Stockholm syndrome situation but then they just get up from the couch to 'grab a drink' and never come back OR is this like when you show someone a Youtube video that you love at a house party and the person ends up loving it and claiming it the greatest video of all time?

When Alien Ant Farm's, ANThology first came out the way we used to find music was by sharing CD's with our friends but thanks to all of the streaming sites, that has all changed. But was it a better, more communal way to find music or are we just old men shaking our fist at the cloud storage? This question is asked in today's episode but I'm not sure if we came to answer. I think we got too busy discussing whether the bass player matched the band, crowning a new splash cymbal kind and getting some dirt on Dryden, the band's singer.

10 minutes into Dane Cook and Chill and he gives you the look, puts his hat on backwards, slams his wrap around sunglasses on his face and cranks, Puddle of Mudd’s Come Clean. Surely that’s everyone’s sexual fantasy, right? Right? Right.

The recipe of writing a successful album for Richard Patrick seems to be:

Get naked on a plane and write about it. Have a secret romance with the bass player of one of the biggest bands of the time. Take mushrooms and record a middle 8. Preach the benefits of universal healthcare.

Pretty simple really. I can’t believe they didn’t teach that to me in my Music Industry Skills course.

Sevendust wrote and recorded this album after over 400 shows in a row and they had to get it done before heading out on Warped Tour 99. Chino makes an appearance. Skin makes an appearance. Benjii does his best to ensure that both Bam Bam Bigelow and Mankind make an appearance.

We go to way too much effort this week but it's fitting for a soundtrack that seemed to put in more effort than the movie. We're obviously talking all things Queen of the Damned soundtrack (or QotDOST as it prefers to be called).
