Vesper and Braun’s meeting quickly turns dangerous, and the Will’s intentions are revealed. Ellory befriends a bird and discovers what is to be expected of them as they seek the serpent Ur’Satha. When dawn comes, the Scales learn to trust the storm, and sail through the tempest. At its eye lies a maelstrom encircled by a many-headed guardian, and beyond that, the artifact they seek.
