Not Really.
It’s not diet at all, in fact it is one of the biggest influences in fantasy and fantastical literature and even games!
Tolkien's work inspired a fantasy revolution, but the Hobbit was enjoyable and cute, that it felt more like mythology than fantasy and it felt like ti could’ve been described as diet fantasy, since even non-fantasy lovers would probably find it enjoyable, engaging, interesting, and noteworthy.
A Hobbit named Bilbo Baggins who wants nothing to do with adventure— thank you very much— is accosted one morning by a wizard named Gandalf, and that very night 13 Dwarves pile uninvited into his home to recruit him as a burglar on a quest of treasure, revenge, and dragons.
They face Trolls, Goblins, dark and dangerous forests, and they find treasures along the way, including swords, gemstones and a magicked ring of invisibility.
Jade also discusses the effect of Tolkien’s work on literature as well as her own personal thoughts on the world.
