About Jim Claywell: With over three decades in the financial services industry, Jim offers extensive experience in comprehensive financial planning services. He has expertise in retirement planning, education planning, strategic asset allocation, and insurance, and works with clients to develop customized strategies that will best suit their needs and goals.
Before joining Raymond James in March 2016, Jim was a financial advisor with Edward Jones and was a financial advisor and principal at Alton Securities Group. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University.
Jim enjoys giving back to his community and stays active as a member of the Alton/Godfrey Rotary, the East End Improvement Association, and the Riverbend Growth Association. He is also the founder of The Giving Glass Project and, for 17 years, has served as the head coach of the girls’ tennis team at Marquette Catholic High School.
When’s he’s not in the office, Jim enjoys playing golf and is a lover of music and art. Born in Granite City, Illinois, Jim lives in Godfrey with his wife, Kathryn, and their children, Christina, Caroline and Jonathan.
