Last week the winner of FLARE was chosen by our expert judging panel and will be announced in time for International Women's Day.
But before then, Connect editor Fiona Potigny spoke to Alt Collective, Claudia Sutton & Sophie Clyde-Smith sponsors of FLARE, about their first-had experience of how exciting yet also challenging the first 5 years of business can be and how valuable having support from mentors, coaches and marketing experts is. ⭐️🙌
At Alt Collective supports female founders and ambitious women to build confidence and unlock their potential while growing businesses and careers that feel aligned, sustainable, and fulfilling.
Through coaching, events, and community, they create spaces where women can connect, get inspired and feel encouraged to take bold action. ⚡️
The latest episode of The Warm Up, with sports reporters Elliot Corbel and Archie Corbett, looks ahead to another hugely important weekend of sport, with play-off pressure, trophy action and testing away trips all firmly on the agenda.
The pair begin with a deep dive into Jersey Bulls’ trip to AFC Whyteleafe, a fixture loaded with narrative as the two sides sit separated by just a single point inside the Isthmian South East Division play-off places. With memories of last season’s title race still fresh and the Bulls narrowly winning the reverse fixture back in October, it’s a monumental game in Jersey’s debut run-in at this level made all the tougher by Whyteleafe’s formidable home record.
Attention then turns to a packed local football programme, with Premiership 1 and 2 fixtures spread across the Island and silverware on the line. There’s also Championship football to look forward to, while the Cherry Godfrey Women’s Division returns on Sunday morning with Rozel Rovers hosting Jersey Wanderers.
Rugby also features heavily, with Jersey RFC travelling away as they look to maintain their 100% record against CS Stags 1863, having edged a tight contest earlier in the season. There’s discussion too on Royals RFC, who face a tough home test against fourth-placed Ditchling as they continue a challenging campaign.
The episode rounds off with hockey, where it’s a big weekend on home turf at Les Quennevais. Jersey Men’s 1s are just one win away from a rare place in the England Hockey Tier 2 Trophy semi-finals as they take on Woking, while the Ladies’ 1s also have national knockout action to look forward to against Guildford 3s.
Tune in for Tuesday’s episode of The Cool Down, where Elliot and Archie will look back on the results, talking points and moments that mattered most.
Laura Clayton speaks with CEO of At Home in Guernsey, Charlie Cox, about the charity's work during 2025 - and how it has started to help those at the very peak of Guernsey's housing crisis.
The Cool Down - Episode 2: Bulls score six each, Jets rampage at Hatfield and Junior Hockey Inter-Insular success
The second episode of The Cool Down with Archie Corbett and Elliot Corbel breaks down some excellent results across the board for Jersey's finest athletes. The Jersey Bulls 6-1 rout over second placed AFC Croydon Athletic in this Isthmian South East Division was accompanied by a perfect 6-0 win over Cranleigh from the women's team on Sunday. There was plenty to talk about regarding the future of the Jersey Bulls Women's season as the league splits into two. The pair discuss the Evelyn Partners Jets' immense win away from home with a 64-39 win over Hatfield Hawks, alongside Jersey Hockey's trip to Guernsey for their annual Junior Inter-Insular's. Finally, Elliot runs through all the winner from Friday night's illustrious Jersey Cricket awards.
The team will be back on Friday afternoon for The Warm Up where they discuss the upcoming fixtures across all sports this weekend.
