For years now, we have vented our frustration and disappointment over not getting new manga series as quickly as we would like. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is a perfect example of this phenomenon where an English translation will come 5, 10, or even 15 years after the series has concluded... ಠ﹏ಠ So, to help satiate our appetite while we patiently wait for a physical or digital release, many fans will turn to fan translated versions of the series online. These sites helped to bring many new series over to the English-reading population and was a perfect placeholder for fans to either catch up on a series or simply start something new while waiting for the official English release to be announced. Now, sadly, many of these sites are receiving cease and desists from the licensing companies and have been forced to either remove titles from their library or shut down all together. Frankfurtter and MagicallyAverage will recap the recent string of events that took place for some of these fan translation sites and what this could mean for the future of English manga readers.
