March 06, 2016 Walk Chalk Chicken (TOTW)
West Virginia fiddler Melvin Wine learned this from his father. The title may relate to a cake walk song of the pre-minstrel era. Walk Chalk Chicken with a Bowtie On is another title Melvin gave the tune, which is the old-time Tune of the Week for 3/4/16. I found the timing a bit odd, though it has a cheery feel.

March 04, 2016 Mothers Advice - CH and 3F
Heres a instrumental take of Mothers Advice inspired from the pickn of Boggs. I worked out the claw version in the first position and got as close to Boggs up the neck version as I can get. Played a dirty thirtys RK that I modified quite a bit to get this sound. Diggn the deep sound, nice change and more relaxing to my ears.

Doc Roberts version.
Should be the key of G, but played in double C tuning (gCGCD). My banjo is probably tuned about 1 whole step higher.
