Almost original CH tune. Title comes from a quote from cigar box banjo player Carl Sandburg: "poetry is the synthesis of hyacinths and biscuits." G tuning but low.

Here's another tune heard from the great Alabama fiddler James Bryan. Per usual, he makes it sound so good I just need to try it. The story behind the title is that Missouri fiddler John Jones was walking home with his children after playing for a dance, humming this new tune, and their lantern fell in the ditch. They walked the rest of the way in the dark.

From the fiddling of Kentuckian Clyde Davenport for the old-time Tune of the Week, 1/29/16. The tune grows on you. The fingering was fun to figure out, as I kept making little changes the more I played it. The double C tab is in the archive.
